I've been getting 1 hour xp boosts from the birthday box thing. Which is a ludicrous thing to be giving to VA level toons.

wish it had some checks before if gives u random stuff like if ur va then dont give out xp boosts but somit ud need like a vr quality weapon or console would be nice.
I thought Q was supposed to have a differant reward everyday..... log in everyday to collect them all. Guess that went to the same place our ensign universal slots.......
what i don't get is that the Oddyses class that we test fly seems to have different BOff slots than the one we get as a reward?
(i had to press F12 and make the BOff power bar longer, when i had my ship i had to make it shorter again, so something is either missing or too much)
i've also noticed that the Odyssey does not have the Auxilary Craft docked in the rear., just some generic polygons to see there.
what i personally don't like is that the Odyssey fires phaser beams from the rear tip of its Nacelles...
yes there is a Phaserstrip, but zoomed out it still looks silly.
anyway after doing the Mission on all my 9 chars i am happy that i'm done with rearranging powerbars and BOff slots...
the mission was sweet and short, the only thing i found a bit silly was that there were some defective BORG Ships just sitting there for target practice. If i was starfleet i would not let Borg drones sit around near a high security fleetyard.
oh and on KDF side i've seen a NPC Odyssey class warp out of the system while it was held by 3 Tractorbeams and warped right into the planet *hrrhrr*
and another one...
on the BRIDGE of the Odyssey, below the viewscreen i can see STARS, my Bridge is leaking air!
Well, I'm new to STO. I joined as F2P. I've played many other online games and several F2P games. I have to say that this Anniversary Event seems rather thin, very put-together-at-the-last-minute, and quite poor. I expected much more from both Cryptic and Perfect World. The Party Crasher Mini-Game just isn't Star Trek, it's more ToonTown. As for the rewards, I am surprised to hear that they aren't scaled to character level, but given the rest of the event, I shouldn't be.
Corrected. Klingon F2P players must be level 25 to participate in Q's Party Crashers.

What really has me annoyed is that the Q Mini-Game is only available once a day per account, not once per character.
It's available per character but only to characters level 5 and up.

Erm... you're doing it wrong. I did it on multiple toons for both factions last night. It is level gated, however, to prevent farming. I believe it is Lieutenant 5 for Feds and Commander 5 for KDF... although I'm most likely off by a few levels for the latter.
Anyway... as for the mystery box, the contents were clearly posted in the anniversary FAQ accompanying the event launch:
If you choose the mystery box, opening it randomly awards one of four things.
1) A box that contains random Green, Blue, or Purple quality item.
2) A box that contains some high end consumables.
3) A 1 hour Skill Point boost.
4) The One Year Anniversary Party Popper item that does silly things when you use it.
That's right, a randomly determined award. This means your reward is subject to chance and you have a chance to get consumables, a 1 hour skill boost, or some item you might not care about. The info is right there... if you don't like it, choose the dilithium.
Lets not forget that this event came with a free ship for each toon you have. Whatever beefs you may have with Ody or Bortas, they're still decent ships, and hey... they're still free VA ships.
There are PLENTY of things to complain about around here that are much worse and have more of an impact on the game than "my free stuff isn't good enough."

It is very thin. It was rushed. The plans have come very lately if dev comments are to be taken on face value.
There is absolutely no special reward for what should be a special occasion.
WAIT you all cry, you just got a massive new beam boat! Well yeah i did, so did you, the world, his brother and my dog. Which kind of negates it as a reward. It's like herpes. 70% of the population have it.
There is nothing at all from this event that allows people to put a little effort in and get a reward that people will ask in a year, ohh, where did you get that?
That's what special events do in other games. they give a chance of rewards so rare that others want them but a select few get ( and I'm not suggesting that rewards should be skill or gear based but random for completing some kind of actual task that does more than require a 5 minute mission of nonsense.

Also, the FAQ does mention some: http://forums.startrekonline.com/announcement.php?f=128&a=10

Haha. Oh, Staran.
I wonder how much refined dilithium it gives.
I tested on an alt. 500.
So that means you can repeat the mission 1,000 times and accumale 2000 CP worth.
Frankly its far too agravating a mission chasing them things arround to repeat very much.
It's a daily mission and only lasts until the 6th, so unlikely.
once a day for 5 days.

I ended up getting x5 Hybrid Batteries that add +75 to both Weapons and Auxilillary for 10 seconds.
They are on the exchange for sale if anyone is interested.
Actually you can sell the surprise boxes on the exchange unopened, but I don't know which catagory they would show up in.
How good is the armor?

My Klingon is 24. I'm F2P, though. So would it have to be 25, since it started at 20?

+5% to beat Scissors on your DOFF missions?
Seriously I got XI purple ground shield and a good one too. Sold it on exchange for 500,000 ec, which I really don't need.
500 dil now = 2 c-store credits .
1 character x 4 days x 500 dil x 2 c-store credits = 8 c-store points by end of this.
8 characters x 8 c-store credits = *$£^ this I'm login into my Paypal

Cryptic Management should fire whichever developer came up with those annoying noisemakes.
They drive me nuts as do the 12 year olds who stand arround incessently agravating people with them.
