The Fed players have more missions, which consist of blowing up 500 enemies or scanning something. Bah.
On the KDF side,
I just returned from Grethor where I palm-striked the freaking DEVIL in his crotch till he dropped dead, JESUS walked by my side killing DEMONS with AKIMBO-STYLE PLASMA PISTOLS while I listened to the TMP Klingon Battle Theme.
This was, by far, the most awesome, yet most stupid experience I ever had in STO. Afterwards, I returned to Qo'Nos and told my fellow Warriors of my brave story. The only response I got was:
"What's the Tac console boosting AP damage?"
Thank you Cryptic, thank you STO, thank you community. Have a nice day
Comments
Now you know the sound of one hand clapping.
May we meet in battle someday!
KDF still has a long way to go.
Yep, and knowing Cryptic you'll still be waiting in 2 years.
Well, my partly ironic posting was intended to articulate my very mixed thoughts about evrything going on in STO. It is just that it feels like the game is constantly pulling new enemies out of its *** to give us more thingies we can shoot. All those cold and hot conflicts and now the Feh'kiri thing. I admit that I was NEVER a fan of those episodes in the show (yes, thats not STOs fault) when Star Trek told us that a people cannot have a mythology as a part of their cultural identity, but all of that actually happened, heaven and hell are actual places you can visit by starships and gods and demons are always cross-dimensional, nearly omnipotent beings.
As awesome as playing a Klingon slaughtering Demons and the Devil is, the Feh'kiri FE are really, really stupid. I mean I always considered Khaless as a historical figure who united the Klingon houses in a time of decadence and despair. I really liked the story arc where they created a clone to give the poeple once more something to look up to and I really liked that they, finally, briefed this clone in what he is and why he exists and dont forget they decided to not lie to the people about it. That was great.
But now we learn that Klingon mythology actually happened, and the Feh'kiri just happen to be cross-dimensional imperialists who look they are taken right out of DOOM, are believed to be extinct since millenia and now learned to build starships and enter this universe and their leader is DIABLO preferring to fight with archaic weaponry and tea-bagging Klingons to death, casually breaking the entire KDF-Alliances defense and wrecking first city WHICH IS NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. And the Klingon-Jesus thing is actually true, there IS a barge that brings "souls" to Gre'thor which happens to be a actual wooden barge with *24th century propelling technology*.
I would have liked this episode as a kind of spiritual journey, but no these are actual events and another enemy to have target practice
They even didn't do that. Just hollow words, but no real progress.
the Feh'kiri are not real Feh'kiri, at the very end of the last mission is a little text from one of your BOffs that says they got some info that some other species is behind it and blah and the computer needs time to calculate or something and that it could take a REALLY LONG TIME to get an answer
(that is the DEV right there telling us that there is a continuation of the Story planned, but that it will take a really long time to get that done).
What? That makes no sense.
And considering many other story missions (state of Q, the return, cutting the cord aso.) you will find, that in every of these missions, the iconians had something to do with it. I belive, Cryptics intention (if there is one) is to slowly build up this masterplan of the iconians as the hidden players wich will someday emerge and even outdoing the borg and claiming nothing less than the whole universe...
Just my thought's ^^
It does. The KDF doesn't have the same content progression as the Feds. As a result, they start KDF characters off at lvl21 and scale the missions available to fill in the gaps.
lol yeah so slowly i fear we will never get to see it ;P
You need to get a fed character TO level 20 first, before you even get a whiff of the Klingon Defense Force. So I'm still confused.
so stop crying on no content you got more ships and the Breen gap is about to be filled finally yes
thanks for KDF mirror
just made 45 started doing STF's and I won't be doing Elite until ready
I personally couldn't agree with you more Roach, and once they've done that (completed the KDF faction (don't forget the ships and costumes Cryptic!
That plus a couple more STF missions and new mini-games (such as Poker? 3D Chess?) will give us ENDGAME that is FULL OF WIN!
Yes, maybe it is so. But it doesn't make a little bit of sense. By chosing Klingon mythology demons as a appereance they basically use melee combat forces wielding huge cleavers, which only leads to them getting their asses handed to them by Klingons *with disruptor rifles and photon torpedos*. Yes, they apearently wrecked First City, but this was such a casual event and the Demons are no big thread at all. Plus, why do they even replicate the barge of the damned? This whole story arc is a one-way road and they cannot justify that story-wise. It is very awesome, but oh so stupid
I feel the same about Undine. In their normal form they are pure cannonfodder. No personal shields, hello?
It went:
Undine (with some KDF/Fed war stuff)
Iconians
Borg
Now we're kind of stuck with Borg, mainly because people kept demanding more and more Borg, and then got sick of Borg but the dev team was only just getting started with the Borg. So expect more Borg.
Oh and the Devidians and Breen showed up for a little bit. And the Iconians even got a bit of a cliffhanger in the Romulan FE. But overall, right now we're in a sea of Borg, buoyed by more Borg, with Borg on the horizon.
Poker, as well as all the rest you mentioned, would be awesome.
Can you imagine a virtual poker night as your toon on someone elses bridge? Priceless.
The they can start on the Romulan faction
Maybe they are saving the Iconians for a Romulan expansion.
You know.. thats entirely possible... Selah's busted up ship gets towed out of battle by an Iconian ship through an Iconian gate at the end of the Reman FE to who knows where. ALl we do know is that for the moment she's out of the picture and we have no idea what sort of issue this is causing with the Romulans. Especially seeing they might have had some involvment with the Hobus event. Even Q is more then a little concerned about them.. (state of Q) Aparently some of thier technology is a threat to the Q and they seem to have no real issues with playing with time. They also seem to be so terribly certain of thier power. The play games with the Borg and the borg appantly are entirly unaware of them. The Undine (specie 8472) have recieved some assistance from them.. nothing apparently they asked for and this has got to concern them. Though its possible that the Iconians assisted 8472 in providing some specific technologies to the Romulans. What exactly were they trying to do to the Hobus star. Was it an accident? An experiment gone badly wrong? Or was it a deliberate use of an induced Super Nova to generate a subspace shockwave shattering planets across several sectors. Aparently the Iconians are not worried about saving habitable realestate!
There are hints that they may have had something to do with the passing of the Tikon Enpire. And apparently everyone and thier cousins seem to refer to them as the "Spirits of Air and Darkness". One thing for sure. They've been around a very very very long time and thier weapon technologies are scary powerfull. (whats that Romulan Arc mission where one shows up and pretty much one shots a cube?)
We'll see eventually... Hopefully before we all die of old age.
So far the Cloaked Intentions and Feklhri series were the best missions in the game. The Devidians though had the most interactive missions, which I liked.
Your post is getting me so pumped for the Romulans. I seriously hope we get them before we die of old age... but who knows there's been no news of them recently. STO is lookin pretty nice though since F2P especially with all the new players.
Edit: the picture in my signature is way out of hand I'll change that right away lol
