We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.17.20120123b.9

General:
  • The MACO Resilient Shield Array will no longer have incoming shield damage set to 10% instead of reduced by 10%.
  • The HP bar for the Jem Hadar attack ship is now a Founder-approved purple.
  • In the status window, class-exclusive skills should now only display for the appropriate class.
  • The Undine Cruisers power Undine Hull Regeneration has been tuned so it no longer heals 100% hull every tick.
  • Undine Hull Regeneration now displays an icon when it activates.
  • The Odyssey and Bortas ships have been added to the special consoles on ESD and Qonos.
    • They aren't using the Odyssey and Bortas "costumes" though.
      • We like surprises.

Is the server like down because:
    a) can't connect to the login server, AFTER patch; holodeck works fine
    b) can't transfer a character over...

great, now we can test them and everything we have said about them being wonky already will just be proven true. they said the odyssey using going to use sovereign skin for testing, why not a star cruiser? its stats are modified star cruiser stats.

I'm decidely uncomfortable about these new models going untested, given Cryptic's poor track record with bugs in new ship models.

All because some mouth-breather in marketing wants a 'surprise'.

there's no costume options yet so everything should fit together perfectly

I really do hope that bridge is just a placeholder. Otherwise its really dissapointing :( Looks like it was just stolen from elements of the virtue bridge. :(

got in ok the second time.

the bridge is ok, looks like an older version seen in some missions. i know they were not 100% sure that there would even be a unique bridge let alone if they have added it to testing, so it could also be a place holder.

Same issue as some of the others here are having:
Tribble crashed on launch from the patcher.
Of note, I got an error in the patcher before it updated my files. I believe the error was:

    Error 4: View not valid.

It retried after 10 seconds and started the patch as normal. Then when I tried to launch the game, it crashed right after I hit Engage from the launcher.

I relaunched the launcher, and again got the Error 4 when I switched it from Holodeck to Tribble. After a 10 second countdown, it seemed to do a brief patch, though it didn't seem to actually download anything. I then force verified the Tribble files through the launcher, and attempted to launch the game again.

At this point, the game launched w/o issue.

Hope this helps any who are having trouble !

    Sovereign and Neg'Vahr.

BOOOO! (They should have used the TOS Constitution skin - that way I could have my T5 Connie on Tribble for a short time ;))

Except for the fact that you've been showing up pictures for almost a year now. Surprises my TRIBBLE$...

Please, spare me the platitudes about "surprises." This game is so stupidly lacking in content as it is and the first new thing we get to faff around with and we're basically told "nope, we're gonna string you along for one more week!"

    Lame.

    [/end rant]

So, yeah...I like the new bridge. I'm not THRILLED but I do like it. I must say, though, that I LOVE the new Captain's chair.

The Odyssey IS slower but definitely stronger as advertised. Lost a lot of the feel without the actual "costume" but all-in-all she's a good ship for anyone who like's big, powerful cruisers. I still think a ship of this type should be more of a battleship...at least one additional weapons slot, the ability to slot cannons, one additional tac console, etc...all of this added to what you already have. I realize that you didn't want to take away from the fun of other ship classes and didn't want to over-power her but this ship (as much as I DO like it) is NOT what it could/should be. I mean, let's face it...the Fed dreadnaught is not REALLY a dreadnaught...and the Odyssey would be the perfect ship to correct that with....add what I mentioned to her engineering/support potential?!?! Then we'd have a ship that would really give a true fighting chance against the Klingons or the Borg.

Another suggestion, though I realize that this may be overkill, give the Odyssey one or two universal console slots SPECIFICALLY for slotting ANY of the "special" consoles from previous ships. I realize that this may not work well the multivector and the saucer sep, but I think that doing this would make the Federation's new flagship cruiser as versitile as she was meant to be.

All of that being said, I still think she's going to be a FINE ship and I can't wait to see her in full glory!
