Looking for a Role-Playing Fleet

I am currently in a fleet, but it is not what I wanted. I only joined to help them get started. But they are a general fleet and I prefer role-playing.

I am twenty-three years old and female. I have been in role-playing games since I was about thirteen, so ten years. Most of them were forum-based, but I am interested in learning how to role-play on an actual game.

I should also warn you that I am new to Star Trek Online. I tried it when it first came out and was very confused by it. But I'm willing to try again, because I love Star Trek. However, I have played nearly all of the MMORPG's that are out there.

If anyone has a fleet that would be willing to take me on, please reply to this! Thank you!

Tara

    Hello Tara,

what type of RP are you looking for?
The 2nd fleet ORG does doe RP, however, it is in form of the Starfleet ranks as military role play.
We are a Fleet of mature players from Europe and North America. Our game play covers all areas of this game, from PVE content to PVP and crafting. All members are helpful and support each other in their activities.

We are open to all levels of Federation players. If you are a PVP or Fleet action player check out the link to "Tactical", those who prefer Special Task Force (PVE) missions find more Information under "Engineering" and Crafters as well as Role players find details under "Science". We run weekly joined missions and also meetings where the Command Staff will update members about upcoming activities and events.

To apply simply get in touch with me or check out the website where you can find more Information and a registration form

    Hi Tara,

I'm not in a role-playing fleet, but have a friend that absolutely loves the one he's in. I sent you a Message with contact information.

Where ever you end up going on STO, hope you have fun with it!

    Good Afternoon Tara,

I am the leader of the Cardassian Jevonite Order. I am reestablishing the fleet after most of the membership went to SW. So, I am starting from scratch.

However, I have run several RPs on the forums and am looking at running RP mixed with game play on the STO server.

I understand that Cardassian may not be your thing; The species isn't for everyone. However, I'm making the RP forum on my site public. You would have to register but as a Civilian (if you decide Cardassian isn't you're thing) to gain access to the RP forum.

I would welcome you into the Order, but if you like the current fleet your in and still want to RP..consider the Order as an option.

RPs will be Cardassian centered (planets, cities, large population with Federation occupation forces, Ferengi merchants, and top secret squirrel stuff).

Jevonite is a rare gem native to Cardassia and are found in relics. It has an Orange tint and was used in ancient artifacts. It is prized due to being so rare.

I'm on the look out too for an RP Fleet, but not one that wants to take me off my ship and add me as a crewman/ officer on someone else's. I respect that kind of RP and would actually love to RP a character in that setting in a forum or PBEM kind of format; it's just not what I want out of my STO.

Not when I already invest a lot of time into my ship, my crew, my character and all the related bios.

If you find anything my handle's in my sig.

Good to see others are on the lookout for RP fleets.

Thus far for my searching, no suitable RP communities are available. The few fleets with RP elements in them have relegated it to a secondary role.

To me, roleplay does not need to take place in a military environment nor does it require me being taken off ship and put into another's, as Storm_Herald states aptly.

It must be accessible, intuitive, logical - the key tenets to developing cooperative writing that is engaging and fluid.

If all else fails, we start our own. The only prerequisite is basic communication. I do not mind assisting in setting up a proper RP guild (I'm a secretary in RL what do you expect :P) but will not be demeaned into adopting draconian rules and regulations without incentive.

So, I conclude it is better for me to forge a new frontier, than to risk disappointment yet again.

Now, to see if I can send a subspace message to the LRSV after work today :3

    RP Challenge:

    Contact a fellow Starship vessel;
Start roleplaying based on current Federation-assigned missions
    Epic fun ensues.
If the RP experiment works, grow the group, if not, find other vessels to RP with. We are already in a 'space based roleplaying environment', so no need for recruitment drills. Besides, I wasn't invited to apply at any one of the Fleets.

I would really love to see more players forming RPG fleets. I’m in the 12th fleet and they have a very strong rp section, having a solid mix of rp styles, from free form, forum, to ridge dice table top format. It’s been a very enjoyable experience.

Not trying to recruit to the fleet but instead I would like to say if you are in an rp fleet and would like to include outside rp as well please take a look at our site or send an invite I’d love to participate.

Due to the increase of players wishing to role play the Post Dominion War Cardassia, but remain Federation or Klingon..The Jevonite Order expanded to include Federation and Klingon Reconstruction Forces.

There is no actual requirement to be a fleet member, but fleet registration will be required (as a civilian rank). It is an RP that includes in game missions.

Believe me, this little startup is doing much better than a lot of RP fleets out there.

Namely because they are flexible, accept contribution of real life (para)military experience and are innovative - they are not constrained to pen and paper rules but are able to use the benefits of roleplaying (namely, team building and improved communications) to conquer elite missions and STFs as well.

I don't know about you but seeing the Legate valiantly blast through an STF without prior experience while battling with a clunky broken laptop to victory is simply... very Cardassian :D

Also with Cardassians, I don't waste time dealing with peoples' egos or ulterior motives. If we say we deploy at 2200hrs, we actually deploy at 2200hrs.

Unlike other RP groups I don't get unwanted advances from so called 'mature' roleplayers. What I get are formal invitations to train Cardassians for future responsibilities in the Autonomous Self-Defence Force. Now, that's proper roleplaying... to rebuild an empire!

The Jevonite Order is a rare fleet that values professionalism and good order. Because your gaming time is limited and we'd like to give you the best experience possible..

So what are all of you waiting for, start rebuilding Cardassia in the way YOU want to see it.

Thank you for the kind words (but instead of klunky I'd say.............OK OK ITS KLUNKY

You're location should be with your Cardassians and a bottle of Kanar.

Clunky? No, that's being properly direct, to the point, and all-encompassing. Cardassian negotiation is like that. Verbose to the point of confusion. You are enitlted to reply with your agreement... as you already have :D

(I have rewatched most of DS9 season 1 & 2 and lol I must say Cardassians were an interesting bunch few enjoyed dealing with).

Cardassians are just to deep for most fans to handle. It takes a true analyst and person with an open mind to delve into such a diluted and convulsed mind. (probably why I'm such a good Cardassian). :D

    Hmph.

Presumptious thought. That remains to be proven in further meetings.

Although, your LCARS interface may need upgrading or you'd be hopelessly outmatched in transmission speed and guile, important traits in intergalactic-range politics :)

Ps. Don't tell me you are still using DS9-era computers. That would explain your dreadnaught being as slow to respond as a Ford Crown Victoria trying to go round the Nurburgring.

Pss. I agree it takes a certain... level of maturity to interact and enjoy Cardassian humour and politics. Not maturity due to age but from real-world social experience in 'certain circles'.

It's like a well aged wine, when you think of it. Not everyone can deal in such language and still see the polite business intentions behind that veil of implicitly threatening words.

So how would the Gul Nador justify taking an obviously Federation RP thread and blatantly converting it into a Cardassian social venue?

    Finally.................. I'm Cardassian
