    Oh I like those universal slots a lot! I'm so excited to be able to fly it! I especially like the interesting ability combinations that this opens up!

    Nice... And the Bortas stats? Although I'm gueesing they will be the same.

    It's basically a Star Cruiser with "flexibilty".

    5.5 turn rate. Looks like the Galaxy's been dethroned from the slowest-in-starfleet position.

    Still, a cruiser with an LTC tac and ensign sci has always been my dream boff setup, and those universals will make it possible. It might pull me out of my MVAM for a few weeks.

    I notice no mention of special powers.

    I really wish that one of the Lieutenant slots were universal as well. Without that, the flexibility is ...I don't want to say illusory, but unfortunately somewhat limiting for what I'd like to do, personally. I'd be 1000% satisfied to pretty much make it my new ship if they'd change that one detail.

    Ugh. 5.5 turnrate.

    You gotta understand, I am addicted to turnrate. I shoot for around 60.

    But I doubt I could break 15 in an Odyssey.

    Otherwise, looks good.

    Hmm, at 5.5 degree turn rate, it's going to be the slowest ship in the fleet, but it'll have one of the thickest hulls in the fleet. That Lt.Cmd. Universal slot will be nice, too.

    I'm betting the bortaS will be the same with one exception of 2 sci console slots and 3 tac console slots.

    Also ... I'm betting the +1 C-store version of the Odyssey will have the saucer and tac support ship separation abilities whereas this version doesn't seem to have it.

    I like the look of that.

    Might need a turn rate console or two but i like the versatility.

    The turn rate is dreadful but I'm looking forward to the universal boff slots.

    You can't beat the price though! Free is always good. I'm sure it will eventually be a C store item.

    Interesting, I'm glad it only has a dedicated Commander and Ensign Engineering.

    Looks like the BO loadout is well balanced against other Cruisers :)

    Not as slow as a KDF Vo'quv Carrier, however.

    I think the turn rate's a good trade off for the flexibility of its bridge officer set up. BoPs traded hull, Cruisers trade turn rate, seems fair.

    I am so looking forward to the 2nd Year Anniversary event, it's going to be a BLAST! :p

    Picturing it now I can only imagine ever max ranked Fed flying the Odyssey and max rank KDF flying the bortaS!

    Is there anyone reading who has no intentions of trying the new ships out? I will definitely be preparing a couple of new toons ready for the event as I truly adore both of these designs, even though at the start of the Odeyssey's design process I was not impressed at all, but opinions certainly can change.

    Now very much looking forward to seeing the bortaS stats and would also love to know if it will have it's own unique interior as well as aux craft.

    It will be interesting though. This will be just like flying my carrier, or pretty darned close. Good thing it has a lot of hull, because you can't shield tank with a ship that slow unless you want to blow slots for two copies of tac team.

    Is cool though, I really like it.

    I like how it looks like this cruiser can essentially be used by any kind of captain and still be incredibly versatile.

    This ship sucks for Tact Officers! This is a Engineering Officers Dream! You need to make Ships for all 3 Styles. I am a Tact Officer! This ship will just sit in my Ship List collecting Dust! This is just showing Favoritism to Engineers and telling Tact and Sci Officers we don't care about you.

    Yeah, I do like the fact of the universal BOFF slots, and the hull and power bonuses are nice but....

    Turn rate 5.5 and 3 sci and 2 tac consoles....YUCK! I don't see myself giving up my assault cruiser anytime soon.

    Before it is not too late I'd strongly reccomend doing this,
    • Since it is the "latest" Starfleet design let's not have it handle worse than the Galaxy buses and at least make the turn rate slightly better than the assault cruisers.
    • Second, think outside the box and give it a "semi-universal" console slot that will accept EITHER a science or tactical console. Especially since pretty much all but a few science consoles really only benefit science captains the most whereas tactical consoles have the benefit of effecting all combat.
    • Third, why not just push this as the first "Tier 6" ship and give it a little something extra, maybe 3 science and 3 tac consoles, replace the ensign slot with a Lt.??? Give this thing a bit more edge and verasility.

    I REALLY like this ships layout, the Uni slots means I can make it the science oriented cruiser I always wanted my Galaxy class to be, the only real shame is its not a Galaxy class, but I do like this ship so not all bad.

    o.O okay...you do know that you could have a Lt.Cmdr Tact in the universal slot right?

    Also is the Odyssey getting a new interior? i know their was speculation going round that their could be but i never saw a dev confirming it unless i missed the post?

    WOW! This thing is going to be a helluva tank in the right hands. Can't wait to put my Aux2SIF 3, TSS 3, and MK XII MACO shield +3 Borg pieces on it!:D

    BTW, am I wrong in thinking that the Star Cruiser is made obsolete by the Odyssey?

    normally a cruiser has it at 1.0


    any truth in the rumor about the crew being 1200 ?

    Thank you for sharing more details about the ships setup. I am happy to hear that it's a Star Cruiser because I fly the Nomad for nearly 1 1/2 years now and I would like to change to some ship with similar stats and that fits to my play-style as well ^^

    I definitevly will be there on 3rd february.
