Where are they? Excuse me for being one of those Nerdy types who likes to know why they're downloading patches, but there's a page dedicated to release notes which has failed to be updated. By any chance is the PR/Communications team on strike?

Seriously. Whats up with stealth patches? I would like to know what I'm downloading as well, no matter how insignificant.
The patches were back-end fixes for the servers. They had nothing to do with the game. Generally only Thursday's patch has game-altering information in it - and that's when you generally get the patch notes.

Yes, the do tend to give details on the Thursday patches, but where do you get the idea this is strictly "back end"- related stuff?
Actually that engage button is a joke. Its like they made a graphic and put it on top of the old one. You can still see the old one there if you look closely.
don't get me wrong I do like the new look, but that engage button completely throws it off
The patch this morning was to address database memory usage. The only user visible result of this is that we are not planning a maintenance for tomorrow morning.

Why is this so hard to put in some patch notes? We don't need a novel or a listing of each line of changed code, just a brief summary like this. If we're downloading updated data to our computers, they should be recorded in patch notes, no matter if they are gameplay balances or code optimization. Thorough record keeping is part of responsibly curating your evolving piece of software known as an MMO. Especially when you have paying clients who use it.
You guys can easily do yourself a favor here by stating these changes in patch notes, since it then gives us all some concrete evidence that things are being worked on/fixed/optimized in the game, which can only help your (heavily tarnished) public image. We won't have to rely on "forum heresay" to determine if this or that is being worked on.

The reason you get a patch is that every time we build a new version all programs get recompiled and updated with the new version number, so the client and related executables get updated and you have to patch them even though the only difference is the version number. There were no user visible fixes, optimizations or balance tweaks in this patch.

Patch notes are for client changes, the only client change is the version number, if they listed the patch notes as "Updated Client Version number" the nearly every day they have been having maintenance, that would be pretty silly.

wait a second! you ninja patched the thing that was responsible for the super annoying daily reset for the last 2 weeks ( in EU primetime ! )?
and you think that isn't worth mentioning in the patchnotes?
after all the flame threads that popped up the last few days?
...
really that is one of the points where we need better communication.
we didn't know what was going on, many of us fully expected that the daily reset is a new persistent *thing* you just do from now on because of F2P.
We didn't even know if it was *intended* or a *known error*.
And now that it's finally fixed (best news all week) you think it isn't worth mentioning?
Wasn't the last patch 150MB? Just how long is the client version number anyway?
This is late int he game now but +1. I think the patch in question was like 100MB. It doesn't take 100MB to increment the client version number. Clearly something more substantial was being distributed.

aren't we due for a report or an update
Anyone know what changes took place?

I kept slipping off the old one. I am glad they did what they did!

*Yeah I know its not for Holodeck, just teasing*
Just make sure you get in before the account server goes offline and you should be fine. :-)

I think there´s some baaad cookie-monster in the cryptic launcher responsible for all these login problems.
Indeed.
Actually loled after reading his post and glancing over to the avatar.
Keep on maintenanceing!

I guess I'll start calling my friends and tell them to make some excuse to leave the work early.
As long as pi
