Far objects can be seen through

Hello,

Since the F2P patch, objects in the distance seem to be transparent. It's breaks the mood a bit when I have a planet and I can see the background stars through it.

Various examples:

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c209/Davewaveman/screenshot_2012-01-22-22-20-23.jpg - Transparent mountains
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c209/Davewaveman/screenshot_2012-01-22-22-17-39.jpg - Another weird planet
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c209/Davewaveman/screenshot_2012-01-22-19-44-00.jpg - oooh, a black hole asteroid!

I'm using ATI Radeon HD 4700 Series 3d card. I've made sure that its drivers are up-to-date, same with all the rest of my hardware.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance!

Nobody else has this problem? It still persists for me after all the recent patches.

have you tried to fade the world detail to max?

Yep, same problem here with a NVIDIA card.
Max distance, max details, max everything have no effect on it.

If I remember correctly, it appeared some time after the F2P launch.

Yeah I have those problems as well. Except for the planets though, it doesn't bother me much.
Still, it's a bug and should be fixed.

I've seen the 3rd image numerous times! As if the planets are being poured into themselves, either bottom up or center out (slow fill in)

I see the "bull's-eye" effect on planets frequently. As I fly towards it, it seems to be emerging from a cloud or fog.

It may be related to DX11 introduction...

Good description, that's certainly a neat way to get the idea across. It's funny to see happening, too.

Is this issue related to the weird flickering at the edge of nebula textures?

I have encountered all space glitches, one more is a big black round shaped area from far (A big hole?) and the planet gradually appears from its center and starts growing till it fills the hole completely as I approach it.

Is that an ATI/AMD 3d card?

I have the same issue and see it pretty much any star cluster mission. I have seen all the iterations of the errors above.

I have this happening intermittently. My display adapter is an Nvidia GeForce GTS 250. There needs to be a non-black background, so something like a coloured nebula, in which case the planet looks like black space with stars in it. As noted earlier, the planet "fills in" the black space as I approach it.

I usually see it happening during missions to explore random systems in star clusters, rather than on patrol or during a Featured Episode.
