We will be bringing down the shard for an emergency restart at 10:30AM PDT (1830 UTC) for performance reasons. The shard should be back online in ~1 hour. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hey Cryptic, those little letters you put after the times? They actually mean something.

It hasn't been Pacific DAYLIGHT Time for months now.

It is now Pacific STANDARD Time.

    Good News:

It's just been annouced that there is going to be a group outing for all STO players to the Budweiser plant.

    Bad News:

Cryptic are organising it, so everyone is coming back sober.

    i made mine at www.stoacademy.com
after you make an image, save it to a photo hosting website. then edit your account & add it to your sig.
The sig can be no more than 150 pixels tall if you decide to do a freeform one, the academy ones are all the correct size.

Server status on the main page says "up". Thought they finished early, tried to log in, not up.

clicked back to it and now it says maintenance. That's some quick response there Cryptic, thanks! :P

While it may be a minor inconvenience and happening quite frequently over the past 3 weeks, I'm quite pleased that they're jumping on issues as fast as they are.

I would rather they they continue this than let problems fester and potentially spiral. Would you want them to risk server stability or player's saved data just because people are selfish and impatient?
    I can wait.

Inconvenient on a personal level but hey, they just reformatted the entire game, I understand some hiccups. I'm just glad the server has been reasonably stable during US primetime. Impressive considering all the changes and influx of players.

My zoning time into ESD is actually MUCH faster than it was before F2P for some unknown (to me) reason.

Due to technical difficulties, we are extending the restart maintenance to 1200 PST (2000 UTC) in order to verify shard health. We apologize for the inconvenience.

It was running beautifully yesterday, but this morning - ohman... just really choppy. TAKE YOUR TIME Cryptic... I like the game when it runs nice and I can be patient enough for that. :)

Not complaining, was just enjoying coming back to the game after several months off. Still, housework got done amongst other things :)

I just came back to STO after a looooong absence and yesterday I was admiring all the great changes that had been made... but today I see one thing hasn't changed; you never know when the server will go down. ROFL
