Hiya guys,
Short bio... I'm a 35yo WoW veteran, ex guildmaster and raid coordinator of a top 300 euro guild. Quit WoW over a year ago, played some SWToR, after waiting 6 years for it, I didn't like it much, and now I heard that STO went F2P and has made leaps and bounds in gameplay, so here I am! I've been a trekkie all my adult life, own all the significant media, and so far my Tactical Captain (lieutenant) is loving his NX class light escort. I live in Athens, Greece, speak fluent Greek, but I am 100% British (came to Greece for my wife, over 10 years ago).
I could use a guild/mentor. I'm a serious theorycrafter (I was responsible for a few Paladin and Druid guides which were well received on the official wow forums), I love mechanics! But I need time to catch up, there are many new concepts in STO which I either don't get yet, or need further clarification on, despite having read hundreds of pages of guides and advice already. The wife and I just had our first child (mom and baby in great shape, 31st Dec birth), so I won't be able to be as hardcore as I once was, but I'm still keen to become a quality endgame player and would like to think that eventually I will be an asset to any fleet.
Now, would someone PLEASE tell me where I can get a decent beer in here!?

See you in the endless void!

congrats on your new baby.
Could not get into TOR myself either. STO is my number 1 game but i think playing it casually is a good way to play this game. its not overflowing with content (unless you like player created missions then there is tons) but what there is of the main game, is fun.
have fun.
as I understand it, STO is still young, I assume there will be more content coming eventually? I don' t mind if it never reaches the intensity of WoW (and of course it never will), as long as there is a steady trickle of stuff to do, and the Elite raids are hard enough to be rewarding. In the meantime, as you say, there is the fan content, some of which seems to be very highly rated.
With the new baby, an MMO-lite is exactly what I'm looking for at the moment, and STO seems to fit the bill nicely, plus I LOVE being in the ST galaxy exploring.
Last year was a little rough in terms of mission content due to the whole f2p transition and other things but with any luck we should get back to a more steady stream of stuff to do.
Good to hear. Interesting times ahead! I'm a HUGE DS9 fan, so DS9 content will be very welcome!
