To help celebrate the launch of free-to-play, Massively.com is going to be hosting an all-day party next Tuesday, January 17th. Check out the schedule of events here.

Link to the news article.

Because I would hate for anyone to miss out on the events or prize opportunities, please make sure to bookmark the above article and join the in-game chat channel named "F2PLaunchParty" :) You can enter this into the Chat options menu or by typing the following into your chat bar: /channel_join F2PLaunchParty

The channel is currently muted but we will open it up throughout the event, before and after official announcements and communications.

I can't wait to see you all there! It is going to be a blast.

Cheers,

Brandon =/\=

Unfortunately, I'm going to miss most of the events. Hopefully I can catch the tail end of the celebration once I get home from work.

I am planning to order pizza, and sit around answering newbie questions, and probably watching Star Trek movies.. or episodes. I haven't decided which.

I am a little surprise Cryptic is not hosting a party at ESD in Club 47 or at least having Q come around! I am grateful that the community is coming together to host a party for this amazing event coming up.

Thanks for the schedule. I'll be sure to avoid those areas of the game during those times.

There is specific reason why. Klingon faction players can't go to ESD. :) We want to be inclusive... IDIC you know. ;)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's a much better looking ship than the Vesta. Sovereign-class, to be specific.

Aww boo. I'm going to have to miss out on this since I work that day. I could probably make a few of the later ones, but I'm on a 10 1/2 hour work day schedule and just want to come home and sleep lol. Sounds like a blast though, you guys better take some screenies and vids!

Umm, CBS already said NO to the Enterprise - J - what makes you thionk they'd allow anything else in game from Daniels century? (yes, obscure "Enterprise" references abound here) ;)

I assume it means they're like stipends; IE they can only be spent on STO.

C-Store points that are locked to STO (can't use them on Champs, etc.).

All I can say: keep the booze ready for the following weekend, when you see all the F2P folks hit level cap in their Commander level ships.

They're Cryptic Points that can only be used for STO (in this case... Although "promotional points" in reference to CO would be Cryptic Points that can only be used for CO) .

Not sure why they don't just call them STO-Points, or whatever game they're applied to.

They're CStore points that will be STO specific. I think they're like what people get for stipends...

Perfect times for all you guys and girls in America!

Shame some of your subscribers/players actually live in different parts of the world.

Another event missed because of your complete lack of understanding the world clock

Not on the West Coast of the U.S. it isn't as most of us work til 5:00 PM (sometimes 6:00 PM); and then have to wade through all the traffic to get home, etc.

    Just saying.

Actually, we pushed this as far back as we could to be within standard working hours in CA and my own sanity here in the Mountain Time Zone.

Don't get me wrong - I love my friends in Europe and Australia and Korea and Japan and Brazil, etc.

But I have a "real" life job on top of Massively, Airlock Alpha, G&T Show and PodcastUGC commitments. Otherwise I would have been happy as a clam to play with all of you in the European time zones during your convenient times. Unfortunately, I can't do that on Tuesday.

Sorry that I wasn't able to do it this time.

You're absolutely right, and for that reasoning alone, i am with regret saddened to say that i will be cancelling my subscription when it reaches renewal deadline. This isnt made lightly but as a result of factors by the company that are completely US-Centric. Now ordinarily, I have no issue with this, but if you're going to accept my support of your brand in the form of my hard earned currency, then I believe its more than reasonable to expect consideration for those outside north america and the wider world. If thats unpallatable to PW/Cryptic, Then may I recommrnd you cease accepting international financial support.

Also, your maintenance times, more to the point the rugid nature of it, leaves ALOT to be desired. If youre going to be conducting it at primetime hours in Europe. Do you.not think its unfair we llose a better part of a day, while North American users are ALWAYS less imposed upon.

Thirdly, considering the current exchange rate, at least for the British pound, my subscription is worth almost double American subscriptions. I wont even mention buying cryptic points in the same vein.

Safe to say, this was the straw that broke the camels back, as the proverb goes. This even will primarily benefit your american subscribers. I believe via GMT the event starts at 8PM here and ends at 5AM.. Its even worse for those in Germany or Greece.

Is it so hard for you to be more considerate and less myopic? I dont thonk thats a lot to ask for.
