Benedict Cumberbatch, who stars as Conan Doyles supersleuth in the BBCs highly original series Sherlock, has signed on to play the major villain in J.J. Abrams second Star Trek film. Many observers feel that it is Cumberbatch (and the writers of the cleverly updated Sherlock TV series) who have produced the most interesting and inspired contemporary version of Holmes, not Robert Downey, Jr. and Guy Ritchie in their series of expensive and popular films]

if khan appears it will be space seed or at least the alternate version re-imagining of it. perhaps the klingons find the ship first, or the romulans, perhaps khan takes control of the enterprise instead of getting stuck on ceti alpha 5 and goes on a rampage. perhaps its something more subtle and completely different to what we all think might happen. khan could play a minor part in this film, biding his time and be a more central character in the third film.
its taking an iconic villain and giving it a fresh perspective. of course he may not even be playing khan. his role has not been confirmed.
Has he appeared in anything that we Yanks might have been likely to see over here in the Colonies?
