600 day vet here.and i just went F2P after checking the F2P matrix i cannot PM non friends have lost the off duty costume slot on my toons and since the main part of the F2p build went live (back in december) have sill not received the lost character slot i had available. didnt know where to bug report these so i posted here.
other than those minor gripes i'm glad to be back even as a silver member and will sub again when i haz the money.
So I figured I'd give this another try, however it seems the fact that I only used the 30 days that came with my digital deluxe version doesn't get me in the early access program.
Back to SWTOR it is then....
Welcome back my fellow captains, I hope you enjoy returning to the chair
Is the referral program still active? I can still send out referral emails and keys, but do those I refer and I still get the bonuses?
Subscriptions and lifetime accounts are still available and are not going to be discontinued, so I'm sure if you refer someone (through the link, I messed up and didn't get the bonuses because I didn't use the web link) and they maintain a registered account for the required time (I believe 2 months) then I'm sure you'll still get the bonuses. If a dev sees this hopefully they'll confirm it, or correct me, but I honestly don't see why they wouldn't still honor the refer a friend program, especially since the link is still active.
It is good to be back, I log in and first thing that happens is I get a bunch of medals and awards and gain skill points which looked great. But, the lag when entering sol is terrible! It took 10 minutes just to load Sol. Overall though, I am impressed with how many things have changed in past years and look forward to keep playing for a long time.
Due to financial reasons, I had to let my subscription lapse last February. I'm patching as we speak (18%) and hope to be playing in a few minutes. I haven't really kept up with what's been happening in the STO universe this past year so it'll be great to see what's happened.
Don't listen to hype from either side. Try it for yourself and see how much has changed.
Agreed.
It's free to play! Give it a run, see if you like it again, leave feedback! If it's not to your liking, try again sometime later, and if you like it, play it!
I'm back too!
I have stopped playing around the end of September, a lot of things are different now, need to get used to the dilithium, duty officers, torp spreads..
And also.. PvP! My favourite part of the game.
So.... considering I already asked this in my own post.... I will do so again here since no one seems to want to answer my question:
How do I download the game if the downloader is stuck at not downloading the game? I got no problems playing champions online or downloading that game.... however this game I can't seem to download. Does this game have some sort of download limitation to only being downloadable inside the U.S? I'm currently living in Egypt.
Is this why I haven't been able to get onto STO for 2 days...maintenance every other sec, or load times that say I time out or was afk for too long....hell I'm just trying to do the very dissapointing wonderladn race to get the typical green boxes a few more times before the event ends..
Thanks for the WB ... What happened to the T3 Excelsior?
It's a C-Store item now. They ripped out in-game methods of obtaining any ships that were originally planned as C-Store ships now that C-Points can be bartered for in game.
Ha, it wasn't exactly a warm welcome. So many grumpy people in STFs and Defera.
Using CP for respecs was a big turn-off, but I've reached a point where I don't see myself tinkering with my skills much, and if really needed I can grind for weeks and trade for CP anyway. Loss of playing foundry missions was kind of lame, but I didn't really play foundry missions much to begin with, so no big loss.
As happy as I am being able to keep everything I've earned as a subscriber (and receiving bonus rewards when logging in), I couldn't help but feel a sense of desperation from Cryptic as I observed the F2P changes. I think this game still has a future ahead of it, but it probably will be nothing beyond mediocre.
It'd be interesting to see just how many free-loaders there are already. I doubt we'll hear any honest stats though...
this is now a free to play game. there are no 'freeloaders'
Don't listen to hype from either side. Try it for yourself and see how much has changed.
hint: most of what people are angry about at this point is not hype

you forgot to mention the part where we were explicitly lied to about it
frankly I find it extremely unlikely that cryptic is going to get anywhere near the free to play numbers they think they will get. this head start won't change that.
I am so glad STO is F2P I get to play the game again yay I wished I could of been able to play it after I had to quit cuz of time probs as I have been working way too much and took alot of time I am now able to play it again whenever I can! I want to hug everyone on Cryptc and say thanks for allowing me and others to experance the game once again!! Thanks again!

I am not sure if this is your situation but my lost character slot turned out to be the character slot I used to go on Tribble.

Yes. but the STFs are NOT what you remember anymore...

Also, WELCOME BACK ALL!
