So, has anyone heard an update on releases for season 6? Back in the day when they still had "Ask Cryptic" it was said that we could expect the Jupiter and the Typhoon for the release of season 6. There were also many other things that were promised for season 6, most of which have never been mentioned again.
LIST
Can we still hold this true or is anything that was said prior to the F2P announcement null and void?
I hope we'll get an answer soon, I'd really hate to battle for the Jupiter's recognition a second time...

Well there are three things mentioned in the latest devblog about Season 6 features that were on your linked list. I don't think we'll see 'one map to rule them all' though, or more fanciful things like allowing players to 'customize geometry and texture of weapons' or territory control.
Its unfortunate that a much needed exploration revamp was not mentioned by D'angelo.
i think PvP needs more love right now than Exploration. But if Season 6 is PvP then Season 7 has to be Exploration.
And i expect KDF Mission Content somewhere in between Seasons so i will not even list that as Season feature ;P
They'll be a bunch of little stuff coming out all the time.. it'll add up.
I personally want then to go to town on getting the KDF faction fleshed out. Honestly untill the time and resourses are spent on fleshing out the KDF faction whats the point of further developing PvP content for whats less then 1 1/3 factions? I just want em to getthis 2800 series out the door and then get thier butts to work on the KDF stuff that I personally have been waiting 2 years for. Missions, constumes, ship skins, story arcs, lore, history backround, social zones. They can keep new F2P fed players happy for about 6 months before they start chomping at the bit with a dribble of stuff that can be done very nearly in thier spare time while the KDF content gets done.
If I were the boss man at cryptic it would be job one. Everything else would take a back seat to getting the KDF faction done the way it should have een at launch.
The games needs PvP to survive, because PvP generates buzz, and buzz aand excitement generate customers which generate the revenue. To have the PvP you really need two fully, equally developed factions. Without it your just ****ing into the wind for all the good it'll do. There are 10's if not 100's of millions of Trek fans out there who could enjoy this game if it were fleshed out properly. There is no reason STO can't have 1 million paying subscribers and a nother several million F2P accounts other then the games lack of content. They need to getthe two factions they currently have to a co-equal footing content wise, then get the territorrial PvP content developed along with things like a better fleet suuport system with perks somewhat like WOW's guild system. Then once that start generating revenue they can portion off part of the dev team to create the long awaited Romulan faction (and if things are doing really well a true way/dominion faction) while continuing to develop FE's for the core factions.. (the current FE's would not work very well for a Romulan or Dominion faction.. well, not all of them anyway..)
Be nice if they could do more.. But they just don't have the warm trained experienced bodies for it.
Once they actually have a full MMO they'll have more options.
However, I personally would be happy if Cryptic decided to do Season 6 to make the KDF content complete, then maybe 6.5 for PVP and 7 for Exploration. That' really in when it comes to the big things in the game. I would hate to have to wait until the end of the year for one mega patch to fix the legacy issues.
Sure, it'd be great to see all these things happen when they're originally stated, but we all know it's not going to happen like that, even with the best of intentions. The acquisition of Cryptic, and the launch of F2P, are two pretty massive things to happen, and they're going to TRIBBLE with the timetables of literally everything.
You should all just forget about what was said before, and concentrate on what's being said now. After all, the most recent information is the info that's likely to be the most up-to-date.
I would much rather they abandoned the stupid KDF and worked on dual-faction end game content. People who make klingon characters know what they're getting into content-wise. If you've already got a max level character, why on earth do you want some low level story missions? Wouldn't you much rather have some repeatable (with reason) end game content? You know, content that is designed for your character's level and gives out useful rewards?
