When are they going to start adding more ship inside

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I just got the sao paulo and didnt notice until the other day that i could leave the bridge and walk around the ship, when are they going to add more stuff for the inside of the ship, right now all you can do is walk around and look at it.

Can they add some mini games or missions to do on our own ships, or things other players can do on other ppl ships, like serve a tour of duty on a friends ship and by doing various duties like adjusting the engines or secuirty issues investiagtions etc.

Can they make it where a bunch of friends can help run the ship during combat. A few friends at each of the stations and they can adjust the power or fix the ship as its in combat.:D

The ship interiors have been on for quite a little time and some mini missions would be cool

This is one of those things that was in the pipeline.

So was fixing the standard interiors given, brushing them up so they were a more reasonable scale.

Sadly though the only change seen to interiors recently was the removal of the episode replay function from the bridge.

I'll add my own wishlist for ship interiors. :P
    • Canon-correct interior for D'Kyr class
    • Canon-correct interior for Peregrine Fighter
    • Ability to choose where BOs sit/are stationed(including positions in the engineering deck and medical lab/sickbay)
    • A fix for the 'BO clone' bug that has been around for ages

How about we extend that one to include all shuttles.

Different interior for Captains Yacht and Peregrine Fighter. Also, more to the interior of the Runabout, ability to walk through the doors at the back of the command section and visit the rest of the Runabout interior.

    Danube class, aft section

I'd love to have an authentic Captain's Yacht interior, complete with dining room and fruit bowl containing a time warp of some kind :D

That was a runabout actually. I guess the Enterprise was large enough to accommodate them in their shuttle bays

We never had the chance to see the Enterprise D Captain's Yacht.

I would imagine that it looks very much like the interior of an actual yacht. The forward section being the command area with the control interfaces and such for flight and navigation. The aft section looking very much like a living area. Couch, bed off to the side, table in the center, maybe a couple of chairs. Possibly some book shelves. Bathroom in the very back, small shower, sink, john. Basically, a mobile captains quarters.

I would also just like to add, I do like the current runabout-esque shuttle interior. Well proportioned, stations in their proper place, I only found two of my extensive list of Bridge Officers there, one flying the ship, the other keeping an eye on the escape hatch. So it didn't seem overly crowded. A very nice setup.

It would be neat to expand the interior access to our ships. Maybe with some basic customization options.

Hopefully they will do this after they finally address all the grossly over scaled bridge's, hall's and engineering.

Actually, I think they will just continue to release premium interior packs. The TOS one is only a little oversized and the Defiant interior is on the way. Eventually we will probably see properly scaled TNG and Voyager interiors as well, all for sale in the C-store for three months stipend.

Honestly, and sadly, I don't care about paying for them again if it meant having more size accurate representations of my favorite ship's bridges, decks and section departments.
As they are now, the scale is so blatantly exaggerated it's jaw dropping... Two story high ceilings, baseball diamond wide bridges. It realy jars you out of any sense of immersion.

Well, what good is the ship interior if you can't do anything with it?

Depends on the ship. And to be fair, the Federation does tend to make their ships a little overly spacious. They are after all designed to be able to function in space for years at a time. They have to add a little luxury so the crew doesn't go stark raving mad and murder everyone.

Yeah, interior scale has been a complaint since day one. At launch, the bridges were bloody HUGE(still are). You can hold a small woodstock in there. They added corridors, and at first even the doors were fricken huge! Made you feel like a tiny person. The corrected the doors, bring them down to par with the actual default character size. But the halls and bridge remained absolutely monstrous. I've never seen the TOS bridge, or any of the other C-Store bridges. And last night was the first time I had ever actually seen a Klingon bridge, so I have no idea on scale there. But I have seen the interior of some of the mission maps supposedly based inside a ship. And to be honest, I felt it was more like a space station than a ship.

But, as much as I would really like the scale to be brought down to par with the default avatar height, BigWorm has a point too. We need something to actually do on our bridges. Our medical officer should be able to heal wounds, our engineer should be able to heal ship damage. Maybe a crafting station in the science section. An actual replicator we can interact with and it acts like a basic item vendor.

I would rather they rescaled everything properly first before they start adding additional functionality and features that would just make it even more of an arduous task to rescale after being implemented.

I remember the "Barn Doors" as we called them. Those used to be two stories tall as well. At least they were in scale with the massive halls at the time...
Since they rescaled all the doors to proper size, leaving the halls and rooms still two stories tall just seems even more ridiculous to look at.

    Something to munch on:
    Nova Class
Note the height of the people placed around the cut-always within the decks, doors and rooms. A scale chart is shown in meters.

    Intrepid Class

    Galaxy Class

    Excelsior Class

And cloning the same two BOFFs to stand / sit at every bridge station. You must not forget that fabulous feature.

You know, I took a break for a couple of months to let the F2P take effect to let them fix some things. I logged back in and went to my bridge, where I found my cloned crew happily poking at their consoles. I have no idea why this has gone so long. Cryptic, for the love of the god thing at the center of the galaxy, please fix this.

The cloned crew I think was the result of fixing a game-crashing bug. So they have to find out how the crash works, so they don't accidentally bring in a bug that isn't just a cosmetic annoyance.

According to an official post about the glitch some two or three weeks ago, the problem has already been identified and resolved, and will be fixed Soon™.

Yeah. Like how they tracked down the cause of the sound crackling and popping on December 2nd and hope to put the fix in "some time next week" I]two weeks and two patches ago[/I.

I can't wait to get the Defiant bridge. They did a great job with the Connie version, and I hope they do all the interiors from the bridges from the other series and movies.

I really wish they would put SOME functionality there. I was annoyed they took episode replay out of there, because it gave me a reason to go in there. Now, not so much.

I've yet to spend too much time on the bridge. And the main reason for this is not the scale, but that no ship-controls are available. So I can not plot a course to somewhere, and sit in the captains chair and watch the stars roll by..
