It looks like the Elite levels of STF are so Elite that maybe only the DEVs and a few Elite game testers have weapons that could kill everything to complete both the main mission and optional mission in the time allowed.
Bad enough to fight Cubes that have 350,000+ Hulls but sphere's with 200,000+ Hulls is just ridiculous. Plus the spawn rate for additional enemies in some of the STF is so high you still haven't killed the first group. Then of course you have to destroy multiple, in the space STF, Gates or Boss ships that have 500,000 HP or higher?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

5 ships/characters to complete all the objectives and optional objectives in the time allowed is way to hard for anyone to complete let alone ENJOY!!! Yes ENJOY it is a GAME and the point of playing video games is that you get enjoyment from it ..... not get more stressed than you were before you played it.
So I am asking for everyone responding to this post to basically sign a petition for reworking of the Elite STF to either:
Allow more players to join a STF Elite mission, give more time or to rework the missions so 5 players with the best of the best equipment and skills available currently ingame could complete the STF Elite mission.
If you agree the change is needed PLEASE sign this petition by saying "agree" and hopefully the DEV's will listen.

Now this might change if the Ground Skill Tree revamp is implemented since there is now a massive difference between fully speced ground and 0 speced ground.
fyi:
37.5k hit by a normal plasma torp from a tac cube in elite is NOT ok and we are NOT fine with it (specced into kin resistance + brace + delta 1 + full shields + epts + full hull in escort + tss2) ...
Cure elite in space, well, that's the hardest one, for sure. Kang gets hit too hard. Though I'd hazard a guess that if 3 people stayed back, 2 went out to deal with the cube and such, it'd be doable.
The bonus objectives need reworking though. Basing it just on time punishes anyone with a strategy that isn't full out offense. A group of escorts, for example, put out a lot more damage, especially burst damage, than a group of sci ships. If they shoot at the right stuff, this also allows them to reduce incoming damage quite quickly. And even the big boys, tactical cubes and Donatru's ship, can be pretty easily dealt with if the object of that big boy's love backs out beyond 10k range, allowing the rest free reign. Though I do think a group of 4 escorts + one support type is better. My favorite group make up right now is my carrier + 4 escorts, over say me using one of my escorts and making it 5 escorts.
I'd love to see the bonus objective time changed. Say the amount of time increased, but a penalty incurred whenever a teammate dies. That way, suicide offensive squads would fail, but good escort groups could still complete. And ones made up of tougher but lower DPS ships could complete it as well. Plus it'd place a greater emphasis on not dying, and, well, isn't that sort of what should be encouraged as the standard of good gameplay, rather than killing fast?
100-120k base damage, yeah. Been critted for over 230k. Just nuts. Sad part is, after I shut down their energy weapons, those cubes can still kill me with torps alone, if I have a bit of bad luck with gaps in the power use coverage. And that's with a carrier spec'd to tank, running a general resists console, a kinetic resist console, 35% shield console, 2 TSS 2, EPTS I & II, HE I & III, APtSIF II, and Sci Team I.
Its suppose to be Elite if its to much for you the options menu has a button that set the game to normal.
Thanks

Ahh we talking about STF Elite mission not Elite setting for normal missions, big difference.
I disagree and let me explain why.
The biggest problem is Pick Up Groups usually have people in them that don't understand the steps to successfully accomplish the elite stf's and what is worse they won't listen to the chat and follow instruction offered by people who do. They should go and read forums and walkthoughs before even attempting these stf's.
Invariably these people inadvertantly sabotage the mission.
If you fly with a group that knows what to do; what is going on, and works together the elite stf's are very easy.
All I have is MK-11 gear farmed from doing the normal missions and with a half ways decent group we win and when I am with an even better group we get the optionals.
A group does not require MK-12 gear at all to do elite stf's, but having your MK-11 Borg gear should be your priority.
