Since there seem to be three Star Wars related threads going with no intereference from those above, I thought I would go ahead and restart the Dr. Who thread in preparation for the upcoming Chiristmas episode where the Doctor visits Narnia, or atleast that's the way the adverts make it look to me. Enjoy!

No regenerating! Last time that happened we got a deformed ginger that hates all food but loves wearing stupid hats and giving air kisses.

If that got past you you really need to catch up. Smith looks like a ginger Mr Potato Head. sad sad day for Whovians when Tennant regenerated. Good stories, bad doctor.

Oh yes, actually I thought he looked more like a shoe. Stories are amazing, but he looks BLAH and Tennants acting was far superior to the 9th and 11th doctors.

Watching teh adverts for the Christmas special, I am trying to figure out the relationship between the Spaceship that THe Doctor is on, that's heading towards Earth, and the Narnia'esque portion of the show. Knowing Steven Moffat, it should be interesting.

    Can't wait to see it.
I reckon Amy ad Rory will feature again, or won't they return until sometime during the next season like Martha did back in sesaon 4?

Amy and Rory are listed in the IMDB credits for the Christmas special, but from what I've seen I don't think they'll have as big a part to play as last year

I am rewatching Season 6 now on DVD (Special Edition). There are also some nice extra mini-episodes on them. Highly recommend these, they are quirky and fun. (Anyone remember the mini-episodes Space and Time? Kinda like that, but with a little more... character focus.)

It's also interesting to rewatch the season with foreknowledge and pick up on the little hints.

“I’m still not ginger,” cried the new Doctor Who after his latest regeneration. But the BBC has insisted that the Time Lord intended this as a statement of regret after it received complaints from viewers.

Angry parents complained to the BBC that the comment, made in an episode seen by 11 million viewers, would encourage bullying of their ginger haired children. But the BBC said that the Doctor was actually disappointed that he had not joined the ginger ranks.

The statement read: “We’ve received complaints from viewers who believed a line in Doctor Who: The End of Time was insulting to people with ginger hair.

“We would like to reassure viewers that Doctor Who doesn’t have an anti-ginger agenda whatsoever. This was a reprise of the line in the Christmas Invasion episode in 2005, when David Tennant discovers that he’s not ginger, and here he is, missing out again — disappointed he’s still not ginger.”

The statement concluded: “In addition, the Doctor’s previous companion Donna Noble [Catherine Tate] and his new one Amy Pond [Karen Gillan] are both redheads.”
Last year the BBC responded to complaints from EastEnders viewers when the ginger hair of the character Tiffany was mocked.

Could it simply be that Brits don't like Red Heads due to them resembling some other folks? What is the problem over there?

This is almost laughable at best, I mean being biased because of hair? LMAO

So it looks pretty defeinte that we'll be losing Amy and Rory sometime this season (series) Who do you think would make a good companion?

My vote would be Amara Karan, who was in "The God Complex" as the cute nurse.

I think it's high time we had a Star Trek actress in the TARDIS, trouble is I can't think of one off the top of my head that'd fit the part of a companion

The only ones I think would wok would be Terry Farrel (Jadzia Dax) or Linda Park (Hoshi Sato), but that's just me. Also, we should get a new male companion also, and someone separate from the female companion (Mickey had Rose, Rory has Amy). The only one we've seen like that during the new series is Captain Jack, and we've only seen him once in the last few seasons.

It just dawned on me that, they're having all this hub bub about the 50th anniversary for Dr. Who (nevermind it's not been a continous run) but all their 50th Anniversary stuff looks like it'll be in early 2013, when the show actually came out in late November 1963. I think they might be jumping the gun a bit here.

Well we know we're going to get at least 14 episodes (13 normal ones and a Christmas special) when teh next run starts in the fall. At least that's what Moffatt said in a recent interview. I would personally prefer more, but I'll take what I can get. Still no word on wether any previous Doctors (Especially 8, 9, and 10) will be in it like we saw in the 10th and 20th Anniversary shows during the original run.

I've been hearing (seeing really) increasing rumours about Tom Baker (Doctor #4) somehow being involved with the 50th Anniversary. No details as of yet.
