The new Jem'hadar attack ship is to week not worth the 100cp. The visual artwork is amazing though. There are too few and instead of have people gamble "real life" money to try and get it, people should have to do a huge mission or event that will be extremely hard to complete. It is a huge joke of a ship the ship feels like "hey Im lucky and got a ship" it should be "hey look i just did one of the hardest things ever and earned it."
There's no pleasing some poeple. Here's what I'd do (and it still won't be good enough)....
Make a big long mission story arc - twenty missions maybe, that deal with going to the Gamma Quadrant and spying on the Dominion or something, leading onto various battles. You get into a fight at the very end of the arc and you have a very, very small chance of salvaging a Jem Hadar ship that's not so far damaged it's useable. But I'd damn sure make you work for it. You wouldn't be getting that mission arc completed solo, it'd take a full team of 5 to complete every 5th stage, even at normal difficulty.
This would foster a need for teaming in the mother of all single player MMOs. That, I think, would be the biggest benefit of the mission arc. Not you getting your Jem Hadar ship.
Sorry to ask a dumb question but . How is it "the best escort in game" ??
Turn rate close to that of a Bird of Prey while having more hull than escorts. It has 4 Tactical and Engineering console slots and 2 Universal Lt Bridge Officer stations. Was that enough?

Turn rate of 20, versus defiant 17, other escorts and raptor at 15. Hegh'ta BOPs are 21, and B'rel is 23 I believe.
Base 33000 hull versus 30000 hull for escorts, 33000 for raptor (but raptors have weaker shields than escorts), Hegh'ta has 24000, B'rel has 21000.
4 engineering console slots, 4 tactical slots, 1 science slot, the absolute best layout an escort could ask for, assuming 4 is a maximum, because science consoles are by far the least valuable, especially for an escort.
2 Universal Boffs, something no other full escort has.
They had to make it over powered in order to sucker so many of us into dumping buckets of money in their laps. This is so much better (for them) than just charging a flat rate for a ship. It's very disappointing to see just how little balance matters when there is money to be made.

Yeah, I'm not falling for that. I got 5 holiday gift receipts on all of my toons because I had too much currency  so maybe one of those receipts will be lucky but its sounds like a long shot.
it amuses me that everyone complaining here....probably blew a buttload of money and didnt get it.
People that are doing that are actually encouraging those kind of things ironically. If Cryptic sees that people dump their money on something, more stuff like that will come.

Yep, that's the truth for sure. The best way to complain about P2W scenarios is not to P2W.
You know, I was really looking forward to this ship when they hyped it right before this event implying it was easily obtainable) but theres no way in hell I will ever stand a chance in hell of getting it. The algorythms they use for this kind of random drop make it near impossible so only about 200 ppl will end up getting this ship.

That's exactly what STO: F2P is all about now. One of the first f2p blogs talked about making stuff rare and brag worthy. The result is items like this "best escort in game". Throw as much money as you have at the store and you'll get bragging rights.

The same can be said of anything tangible in life though. Throw more money at a car dealership than the other guy and you get bragging rights.
Throw more money at the guitar shop than the other guy and you get bragging rights (I'll just use my Fender Stratocaster bragging rights here since it's relevant )
Throw more money at the real estate agent than your mates and you get bragging rights.
Throw more money at the C_Store, and you get... what... pixels? You daft bugger. lol
it amuses me that everyone complaining here....probably blew a buttload of money and didnt get it.
Actually there's a simple reason I won't bother. It has no Lt Commander science station and I don't want to give up Gravity Well. That doesn't change the fact that it's the best escort in the game. If I were using Defiant or Fleet Escort I'd definitely want it.
Q: Why does this ship work differently from others in the game?
A: We are experimenting with releasing starships that normally could not be put into the game or the C-Store because it would not be IP appropriate to have them widely available. Rather than simply not have them in the game, we are trying out this alternate way to make something special available to the player base.

Ye-ap... Gambling for goodies is a PWE staple. Get used to it. If you do not like it, then stop gambling for the items. Also, nothing is sacred when it comes to their casino (as it were) so anything may at some point be gambled off. (Such as STF gear as an example...)
I used 100 of my stipend points for that silly box. But w/e. Didn't cost me nothin.
I really like the looks and everything but still this ship should not be something to gamble on and should something earnable. sorry if my post seemed a little "trollish" or "rage".
how do we know there are only going to be 20 or so of these things in game? Some onesaid that in here and im curious. i was going to spend my stripend on it to try and get it but if there are that few going to be in im not going to waste my time.

When they find out that adding C-Store lotteries gives them more money than releasing content...?

And you have to admit that F2P was set up for this to happen much more frequently and throughout the whole game where before it was not.
Oh well, time for me to go gamble with pixels without spending real $$$. I don't like the greed but I can't say having goodies isn't fun.
Not trollish or rageish at all, in fact completely understandable. This latest move is something that I don't understand. There were the arguments about all of the free to play changes when it was on Tribble. But in the end it turned out alright. I just can't follow this one though, no joke really, I just can't wrap my mind around this.
This concept of brag worthy via luck? Maybe brag worthy by a hell of a lot of work, like the extended mission arc idea. I'd even include farming if need be. But luck? I can't fathom how far out of left field this came from. And even here I'll make a concession. Luck for cosmetic items. But for this? It just is ... Wrong.
At least that is the logical way to look at it.
I was never angry at the f2p changes although it was troubleing to read the forums then. But...this twist just seems on an entire different level.

The probelm is their reasoning here. If fewer people get it, it´s not bad that it´s OP (supposedly) ?
/Truth
Must be quoted.
Cryptic need sto either re-balance the Bug, or re-balance every RA/VA ship.
I vote the bug-nerf personally.
I'll be making some exterminator themed signatures later.

It has universal LT slots, meaning it can be more durable than any escort, but turns like a BoP.
Yet it also has 3,000 more hull than any Escort.

Ahh!
Well the way things have been going lately you're more likely to get it added to the C-Store than have it nerfed.
although "unknown" must mean...when the moneymen tell them to release it....is suspect summer

That's the 2nd time this week I've heard this new term - "buttload". lol
