    Snowballs.

I'm now taking bets on how soon the BTD complainer camp will start taking pot-shots at these too.

    What does BTD mean?

    Interesting.

Are these Holiday Collectibles the same thing some of us got with our Purple "Dilithium Tax Refund" BOFFS? Or are those useful in some other manner as yet unannounced?

    Bio-Thermal Dampner.

They used to be much cooler (yes, bad pun. I know) then a bunch of people started complaining about them.
Now they are what you see today.

Hmmm. Snow Slide for prizes. Check. Snowballs. Check. Scarves and other holiday themed gifts. Check. Sounds a lot like the same Christmas that went on in a certain OTHER former Cryptic game. Something about a city of larger-than-life saviors.

Why not do something a bit more creative? Christmas in the Ribbon, for example. Picard had one. :p

I'd like that a random wave of the nexus and mass suicide of ships going into it to celebrate christmas. My characters surrounded in a euphoria of engine batteries. They will never want to leave if there are enough batteries.

    6 Rare Borg Salvage

    .....4 Duty Officer
    3 Skill bonuses
    2 (hundred) C-Points
and a rare requisition form stack!

    Ba Humbug.

Now that all the skills for science and engieering are "new and improved", you want to know what the REAL present would be?

    Review and rebalance EVERY power;
...and then give two or three
    FREE skill point respecs
    ...and a one-time
    PASSIVE TRAIT respec.

That would be worth celebrating and would actually be FUNCTIONAL for the game. I won't hold my breath, but it's nice to dream.

Not sure I would have bothered with an event like this pre-F2P at this point. But much like the free ship deal, I'm rather pleased with the intent.

Normal MMOs have regular events such as this, and if this winds up being a recurring thing, it could go a long ways to promoting a healthy image of STO. A STO that looks healthy is a STO that people will want to play, which means theoretical revenue, which means funds to further improve the game. Me likey.

    If the skid boots either;
    *Have non-cartoony visuals
*Have visuals that can be turned off

    Well.
Lets just say if we can't have rocket boots we can at least slide down the hall. :D

Sounds a lot like the holiday events in City of Heroes. Especially if there is a ski race. Those were fun!

If it is, than it is a rip off. One rare BO and some costumes/food items does NOT cover the 1+ million I lost to the conversion.

I would like to echo this sentiment, that Jexsam has so nicely articulated. Looking forward to it!

It won't be unlocked till the Thursday update.

I am curious to know what kind of effects the special tribble breed(s) that we can get by feeding these holiday sweets to our tribbles will have.

That OTHER game also had a dungeon element with cross faction teaming. And that event unlocked togas and laurels, which would probably be more at home in a Trek game than a city of super-humans.

I am curious about the scarf. I can't help but think it would look more at home in off duty clothes but I have a feeling that won't be possible.

I'd really like it if we got EV coats of some kind with a fur-lined hood.

ROFLMAO... I can't wait to see Santa (Q) and his sleigh of borg probes! Would be funny watching those borg elves try to assimilate those presents Santa got for all the good little boys and girls from fluidic space.

I was going to redo the frosty the snowman lyrics and turn him into a borg but I got tired of it halfway thru...
