I am bouncing in my chair right now.

    I'm so excited. :D

Please pass on my gratitude to the entire team for all the hours, sweat, tears, pain, frustration, and love that they have poured into this game.

    Squee!

"(Concerning Tribble) This will allow us to test some upcoming changes, such as the ground skills revamp. We will continue using RedShirt as the test shard for staging changes to Holodeck, just as we have been for the past two months."

Ok and how is that not redundant? However, I'm glad we're not done changing the skill system. I shouldn't be surprised that further changes will continue on that.

Tomorrow? Tomorrow! Excellent stuff! I played a lot on Tribble but made sure I left some things still to do. It'll be awesome to play around with the new stuff, and finally have my own crew of Duty Officers on the live server :D

If I thought speaking my mind as a customer and not rant was going to do anything I'd do it but it won't and I don't do rants so roll on season 5. There's plemty of threads on this forum about what the community really thinks and that no amount of spin is going to change the community's perception. Cryptic's now made it's bed so I look forward to just feeding off my stipend. Little else to be said.

    Tribble got wiped?

Did you even read the article....
So what is going to happen to Tribble now? Basically nothing changes in the near future. Tribble will continue to be used for testing as it is. It will stay isolated from Holodeck in terms of C-Store purchases, and won’t be wiped at this time. This will allow us to test some upcoming changes, such as the ground skills revamp. We will continue using RedShirt as the test shard for staging changes to Holodeck, just as we have been for the past two months.

I agree that Cryptic has made it 's bed. I will be doing the same as you, but this will no longer be my main MMO and will be that way until things are turned around or the game shutdown. I will continue to voice my opinion on the forums until Cryptic gets its act together with STO.

Wow - given all the bugs that still exist on the Tribble build (and many of them NOT longstanding, but recently introduced); the statement that you're pushing it out to the Live server on 12/1/11 just goes to show how worried Cryptic must truely be about "getting it right" or "the opportunity to make te game what it should have been two years ago"; eh?

    Wow, just wow.

I honestly can't believe their going live with this... i mean hell, the skill tree isn't even finished, the games going to be imbalanced like hell because of that.

Who cares? Cryptic doesn't, and there's no point y/our getting worked up over it, it's like getting blood from a stone.

Bah. They gave themselves a week-long release window. I'd've preferred that they used as much of it as possible to apply more polish.

I have never played on Tribble or Redshirt or whatever these server names are called, so I'm excited to see these changes in action tomorrow, since I'll be seeing them myself for the very first time. Incidentally, good thing I already picked up the Lv.3 Excelsior for both of my characters already. :)

I'm surprised that they're calling this Season 5 though. I knew that they always intended to release 2 seasons per year, but I thought this was just the conversion to F2P - not an actual season. I guess the Season 4 Finale of STO is today then...

The ground skills haven't been revamped.

Given the fact that you're pushing the new Ground combat AND the only real piece of new content is the Ground Invasion, how does it make sense to push this build to live without a ground skill revamp? Half of the skill revamp (one of the HUGE changes) isn't even in testing yet!
