The Blacksheep is a casual fleet with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We are “…a collection of misfits and screwballs…”; a social group with a slight Star Trek addiction.

We are on STO because we have a love for Star Trek, and we want to have fun. If it’s not fun, then why do it?

Some of the features of the Blacksheep:

Casual Fleet – We understand that for many of us, real life events take priority over computer games, and because of this you can’t be on here any time you choose. We are a relaxed and fun group. There are no mandatory meetings; no mandatory events; no mandatory fleet uniform. We do have a fleet patch, but wearing it is strictly your decision.

Simple yet organized – We know that some rules must be in place to keep things running smooth, so we have a simple, streamlined code we go by, overseen by the Fleet Council, our governing body. Even if some of our leadership were away for an extended period, the fleet would still run smooth. We have members who love to help, and always try to answer questions.

Open to most – Star Trek Online consists of players of all ages from all over the world. We are looking for players with a good attitude, who like to help others, and want to have a good time. We know that age doesn't always reflect a person’s character. There are minors that have traits far beyond their years, and there are seniors that you would believe are still in elementary school. If you like helping others, treat people with courtesy, and looking to have fun, you will probably fit right in no matter the age. Most of our members are over the age of 18, but not all.

Fleet tools – We have a web site that contains a Forum, Gallery, News area, and more. The site allows our members to exchange ideas and information and gives another outlet to have a good time. We also have a Vent server available for fleet use.

No heavy-handed recruiting – You will never see us shout out spam recruiting messages, and we will never send blind invites. When we run across people who seem like they would fit in with the Blacksheep, we might chat with them and inquire if they would be interested. We would rather go slow and treat people as we would want to be treated and find good folks, than blindly go on a recruiting blitz.

We are not looking to become the largest, fastest growing group. Rather, we want quality people who wish to have a good time in a relaxed atmosphere. It is our hope that by maintaining this philosophy, we will strengthen with a caliber of individuals you rarely see.

If you are interested in joining, or want more information, please feel free send an in-game message to @Troubl or reply to this thread. You can preview our site at http://fedblacksheep.enjin.com/. Upon joining the Blacksheep, you will be given full access to the site.

Wishing you fair winds and smooth sailing,

The Blacksheep

Kirk or Picard? And would the other Captains from the other 3 series qualify
to even be included in that question?

on another note, I am having a grand time in the Blacksheep,
It's a good place to be.

I plead the 5th on the grounds that it might incriminate me. Maybe one of our other members, or someone in this forum, is willing to answer it!

That is a tuff one and has been asked before.
What about, the best Captain, acting Captain or 1st Officer in the following catagories:

    Best at bluffing?

    Most diplomatic?

    Best fighter (space)?

    Best fighter (ground)?

Most likely to throw all the rules out the window?

Most like to follow the rules to the letter?

Most likely to do anything to save ship and crew?

Most likely to disobey a direct order?

Most likely to obey an order to leave the away team behind?

If you can think of anymore add them.

Most likely to disobey a direct order? I think they all did at some point.

Hey, to the guys of the Blacksheep, thanks once again for stepping up. You folks were helping out new members on f2p launch day while I was travelling due to work. Your enthusiasm in helping people is always great to see!

And to those members that joined, or inquired about the fleet due to their efforts, don’t be afraid of any questions you might have. We have all been there at one time. I often still feel like a noob! We’ll do our best to answer your questions.

Wishing you fair winds and smooth sailing,

    Captain Ron@Troubl

Glad you're feeling better too. We did the STF's you had planned in your absence. It's good to have you back!

Any group that has Monty Python meets Star Trek on it's site has my attention. :D

I think I'll register over there and give the fleet site a spin. Applications on the fleet site somewhere?

    Howdie BumblingBee!

No, the way we do it, once a member joins the fleet on STO, then we give him full access to our site. Worst case, you join the fleet, you decide it's not quite right for you, and you leave!

I'd be happy to chat with you if you have any questions, or throw me a message. Where ever you wind up, hope you're having fun with it!

Welcome to all the new members this past week.

We will soon have a sister fleet for those wanting to put their klingon toons in the klingon side of the Blacksheep.

This is to inform everyone that we have lifted our moratorium on recruiting, and are once again looking for good members to join the Blacksheep.

Though we hadn’t announced it on this thread, we had temporarily suspended recruiting. We had received so many recruits, we needed to slow down and make sure new members got the proper attention needed before bringing in more folks. We do not want to grow so fast that new members feel like they are being ignored… we want to ensure this is a positive experience for people on STO.

If you would like more info about the Blacksheep, feel free to send an in-game message to @Troubl, reply to this post, or go to our site:

Sorry guys that I haven’t been able to host some of the events recently. Work is keeping me very busy right now, but that’s a big reason why our fleet is “casual”… life happens. On the plus side, I think someone else will be hosting a Poker Run for the fleet, so please be sure to answer questions to the new guys about how it works… I’m sure they’ll have fun with it!

As always, you folks have been great helping out the new members… keep it up! Once things slow down at work, you’ll see me on the game more, and I’ll get back helping the new members, crafting, hosting events, farming, etc.

Oh, and thanks to all the Fleet Council members that have stepped up while I’ve been busy. That bank can get very cluttered very fast if it isn't maintained, and several of you have done a great job staying on top of that. Much appreciated!

we now have a Klingon side so if your mainly Fed but need a safe haven for your Klingon toon
    we now have it.
with that said, the Fed Blacksheep is the fairest Fleet I've found in 2 years of searching,
there are no dictatores and ranking up in fleet is the fairest if ever seen,It's voted on.
so theres no favoritism. It's casual and we do relize that real life comes first.
We encourage questions no matter what the question is or what rank your at, and will
help in any way we can be it newcomer or vet.

please reply to this post or the contact info at the begining of the thread.

I'd be happy to speak with you! Either in-game, via messages, or here on this thread. I'm in the process of travelling for work right now, so please forgive my slow replies.

If you'd like an invite to the fleet, send me a msg with your toon name and @handle and I'll get that taken care of. All the best to you!
