The Terran Empire: A 100 years of history

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
A couple months ago I fell down some stairs and hurt my ankle pretty bad, I was off my feet for a fair bit of time and thought about how the Terran Empire came back in such a short space of time. So I began writing 100 years of history ranging from Spock to the current Emperor James O'Brien (I was doing this while working on "The Crossing" Series on foundry) so after probably like 3/4 months It's more or less finally finished and thought I'd share it with the Terran Empire fans out there in the Star Trek Online Community, I just hope you enjoy it, feel free to ask any questions or criticisms as you see fit, I welcome them all :)

Theres a number of Chapters to have fun.

Any chance that Diane Duane's novel 'Dark Mirror' was explained in integrated into the story?

Nope, never really cared for Star Trek novels, I just sometimes find them a bit much and eccentric so no, no part of what I wrote has anything to do with the novels.

As a fan of the Terran Empire, and a player who flies the banner of Terran conquests, this is an awesome compilation that, by far, outdoes the Memory Alpha page for them by a lot. I always felt their lack of material regarding the Terran Empire was a little disheartening. Thank you very much! :)

You guys should check out Major's Foundry mission entitled The Crossing. It's a pretty comprehensive mission that immerses the player in all things Terran, which I also agree is severely lacking in many storylines in and out of Star Trek Online. I even heard rumor that an entire ground map (made from scratch) is being created by Major that represents the first-ever Terran Earth in Star Trek Online.

I totally understand. The Novel would have been incompatible with later DS9 developments.

But don't write off the novel completely. It's actually very well done.

That was a good read. :D

    Current Status of the Empire:

*They can pop back and fourth between unvierses whenever they feel like it.

*No word on a New Emperor/Empress

    *Purple hulls? :O

I might have to buy one, I take a lot of trips to and from London so it's something to read on the train lol

If this is anything like Major's foundry missions it's awesome. You should really take a moment to check it out.

    *Purple hulls? :O

As the Terran Empire uses a Dominion-style colour scheme on their ships, does this mean the Mirror Dominion (whatever it might be called) uses Starflleet-like grey with blue glow in the nacelles?;):D

I wouldn't say they can pop in and out of the universes on a whim, thats one of things I try and leave open: that the empire is always trying to find ways into the other universe with little setbacks.

The new/current Emperor is just going to be (in my mind) James O'Brien. Even though I know that theres that one cryptic mission where you destroy the I.S.S. Molly but killing off James like that I thought would be such a boring way for him to go so, hes still alive.

The purple hulls thing is again a reaction to what cryptic did with the Terrans, wouldn't of made for good reading if I put "The empire decided to have purple nacelles because some members of the Federation couldn't tell the difference between themselves and the Empire" lol just wouldn't work.

Awesome work! I really enjoyed reading that and how you tied the mission storylines from STO into your history!
Well done, my favorite part was reading Fleet Admiral Giligan! I got a laugh out of that.:D

The way I look at it, Major, the purple colour scheming is more for camouflage purposes. But that's just the military in me speaking. :)

Well, you use matte black to hide in the night, brownish grey for the desert etc. but what kind of terrain are you going to use purple to hide in?
    Hello Kitty Land?;)

Going on sto's terrans... first they made a portal with a orb... now they can create the same from a single ship... now what it takes to do so is beyond me... but if it only takes 1 ship then ... all they have to do is enter from a part of space the federation is ignoring... build up there... and walaa our terran overlords will be coming :D

As for the new Emperor/Empress... how about a descendant of the Sato bloodline....

    Maybe Empress Sato the VII...

for the purple hull... maybe they stole dominion related stuff. :O

HMM, well it would explain the drastic change in look from DS9 to STO:

Kira and Bashir introduced the Terrans to the Wormhole.

Maybe there was a different "Dominion War" in the MU which ended with the Empire incorporating Dominion Tech into their ships.

That'd be interesting to see the Domion vs the Terran Empire
