We will be bringing down Star Trek Online on 11.22.2011 from 7:00AM to 9:00AM PST (1400 to 1600 UTC) in order to perform maintenance and apply a new patch. We will provide an update once the maintenance has been completed.

Good grief, he didn't say there will be patch notes after the update. He said there will be an update after the maintenence is complete. For the last 20 months, that has been a two sentence notice that the maintenence has been concluded followed by a thank you.

Until recently, patch notes were released at the same time as the announcement of the patch. People aren't being unreasonable when they ask for something to continue as it has been in the past.

In short, loose the caps and quit being the forum police. :D

And we have had several patches that never got release notes on holo in the last few months.

It's 51 MB if you patch up Redshirt. It's most likely more C-Store items if they didn't post patch notes.

Rehpic (Crptic Dev) made a post in another thread that I am going copy here and call "psuedo patch notes".

    Here it is:
    Rehpic wrote:
There will be a patch applied tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to address the problems with the Qorgh Raptor that started occurring after Thursday's patch.

All I can tell you is I'm apparently downloading 2590 MB right now, and I have no idea what I'm downloading, as the last patch notes is for the 10th.

I have to say, I've come to expect this kind of shoddy service from Cryptic.

That's what I'm thinking too, kinda gives the element of surprise.

Then you must not have been on holodeck in a while. I just logged in and didn't get a patch at all...?

Then something aint right man. I patched Holo and Tribble last week, and there hasn't been anything new since then.

Did you tell it to verify the HOGGs? Maybe it found some corrupt game files?

    Odd.

To be fair, I had a similar experience.

The first several times I logged in after the last patch, the game continued to apply new patches. At first I thought that perhaps there was a glitch that was forcing it to download the same thing over and over, but then I noticed that the file sizes kept changing.

It did, after about 3 or 4 launches, eventually stop doing it.

Sufficed to say it might have been a... Progressive patch of sorts? Is there precedent for this?

Couldn't tell you, all I know is 4 hours later I'm still patching. I wonder if they will reimburse me for pushing me over my monthly download limit with my ISP...

Of course, if they actually posted patch notes to TELL me what it's doing....

You guys didn't turn off patch-on-demand recently? When I got sick of the constant wait, I turned it off and ended up having to download a lot all at once. Other than that, I don't know why you'd suddenly have a 2 GB file o' fun to download.

If you press X while its downloading, you can see what it is updating. I'd be curious to hear what files it thinks you needed.

don't get too excited, the patch note is just a crashfix for a bug introduced in last week's non-existant patch

btw....can we expect patchnotes from last week anytime soon? cuz if there's no patchnotes, it never happened

    And Patch Notes:
"Resolved crash that was introduced with last week’s patch."

Yeah!!!!!!! I keep getting disconnected like crazy. It is nice to know this is fixed. Come to think of it, we never did get the patch notes for the last patch. I wonder what it was.....

Last Thursdays Patch screwed up the On Demand Patching Thingy (as well as several other things)...

that's why many people had several patches in a row if they logged out and then right back in afterward on Friday.

And I wasn't being Impatient, I was merely curious..., for as others have said, We do not always get notes.

I'm hopeful (but not confident) that They will have fixed the 'ESD Crash' BUG.

Things like this and them doing patching during normal business hours, tells me that 1.they no longer have the people to write real patch notes, 2 or they don’t want you to know what their patching, 3 they just don’t care. 4 they don’t have the money to pay someone to do overnight patching or write patch notes.

Yeaa with that other big game coming next month on the 20th, I think STO is pretty much going to go the way of SWG. It will limp lamely along till their licenses runs out then it will be given to hopefully someone who will not take their old online game slap a few new faces on it and call it star trek; you have noticed that where playing more or less champions online with a Star Trek instead of comic book cover on it right.
