Launcher should record the password

It would be a nice feature if the launcher would remember the password, especially when I switch through my characters for checking do-assignments or checking running inactive exchange items...
I think the storing would be the easiest way.

The best way would be able to switch characters without logging out. Whats your intend?

PS.: I dont want to create a zombie-thread... therefore a new one

A save password option wouldn't hurt anybody.

So long as its only an option, I can live with it - some of us play STO on shared computers and having the password be automatically remembered would be a very bad idea.

    /le no agreed

    no, no, no.

the reasons for this are NUMEROUS (numerous enough to not be worth the time to count 'e, all) and honestly... HELL NO

easiest solution to this problem is a simple logout to character selection button

You could create a macro with your password. Press a buffoon and it will type it for you click go, done.
In all honesty I don't want it forced, if it were a option, OK, but not on by default.

What bugs me is that logging off a character logs you out of the account entirely. It should take you back to the character selection screen, like almost every other MMO out there. Then you won't even need the option to remember the password, because you won't be logging in and out all the time when switching characters.

One of the original reasons I remember is this:

You share a computer with your family or friends. Except one of them is not friendly to you one day, or maybe just confused/stupid. He/She/It logs into your account thanks to the auto-filled in password, and deletes all characters. Oops, now you have to beg and hope that customer support can help you.

For the same reason, it's better if you end up in the account login screen when you log a character. Otherwise - you take a break, someone comes along, logs out your character, and deletes them all.

    Absolutely, yes.
This was discussed several times , but i'm not sure about the reason, why we still don't have this.

You could use a password safe like Keepass where you have your login(s) password(s) stored safely and can enter them by just right clicking.

No to keeping password; yes to an option to select a new character w/o logging out.
