Hopefully none if I am a paying or paid-LTS player. The F2P players can wait all they like :)

The only reason there will be a queue is if Cryptic make one through the servers getting wrecked through bugs. The chances of an mass influx into STO at anywhere near the level they had when STO first launched is extremely unlikely.

I want Cryptic to make a counter on the login screen that says how many people are actually online. Should be simple enough to achieve and Cryptic surely dosent have anything to fear revealing how many people are playing their game.

If loads of people are online folks will be able to expect queues and prepare accordingly. Dont you want to be helpful to your Customers Cryptic ?

Actually i beleave your wrong if they go f2p several weeks before tor comes out why well i also been playing dcuo and they was expecting a large influx of people but what they got was way beyound what they expected , there player base rosed 1000% yes thats what i mean 1000% and i expect the same or more for sto, and i hope sto prepairs for it better then dcuo did, they have had a mess with crashed and other things, also i have been in queue to log in as far back as 5000 in line lol, and i know sto had problems back with just the episodes when they first came out they couldnt handle that influx of players, so when it goes f22p they better be expecting numbers beyound what there thinking .

You should never compare anything SOE does to any other company. Find the worst way to do anything, ask SOE to do it, and they will gladly prove it can be done worse than that.

They didn't open up any new servers for DCUO. I was a subscriber when it went F2P. The game went from 100 players, honestly and literally. We counted players and there were no more than 100 players.

They didn't expect the sudden 120k F2P people coming in. Didn't expect is one thing, but they weren't prepared for 1000 players. They had been running the game on a skeleton server for so long...with only 100 players in the game we still had lag, often and a lot.

Anyway. They didn't prepare any new servers. In fact, the way I understand it, it wasn't until the server literally started smoking that they thought they may need more. They actually borrowed some of SWG's server space to cope while they work on ramping up the server capacity.

When CO went F2P, they didn't have this problem. I can't see STO having it either.

There may be a few times where they are stressed, but Cryptic does have enough experience going F2P to be prepared for the new influx of players.

My question isn't if we will see a Q, but if we will be able to cope with the chat spam...

But, assuming we do need a Q, I expect we gold players won't ever be faced with having to wait in line?
