There is this incrediblly annoying clicking/static sound on tribble that is affecting ground and space. I tend to notice it most in sector space but its mostly everywhere.

sit right near the wormhole when it opens and turn your speakers up to really hear it. its driving me mad.

its not on holodeck and as far as i can tell my sound cards are up to date. I know a couple of others have had issues but id love a comment by cryptic. are they awear of this, is it affecting everybody, certain sound cards?

I'd hate for this to go live. id have to play with the sound down half the time.

I noticed this briefly myself. I usually listen to iTunes whilst playing STO but whilst in ESD a playlist finished so I was down to the STO ambient noise and noticed an annoying clicking noise. I thought it was something on my end at first but when I started another iTunes playlist the clicking went away completely.

Oh yes, finally someone to share my pain with =P

Been hearing this static'y audio clicking noise too, happens very often in sector space and is driving me nuts. I've played with the ingame audio settings and it doesn't seem to go away or change in any way, and because this only happens on Tribble since the free-to-play beta I've been afraid of the prospect of seeing it make its way to holodeck to crackle all during my STO time >_<

Please tell me the devs know about this particular minor-but-annoying issue...since it seems to not be an isolated case if more than a few of us are hearing it.

Getting the same clicky noises while In sector space and ground combat as well. Running on Realtek on-board sound at the moment.

I notice it mostly when I'm at the KDF academy. It's very pronounced for me there.

I've noticed the clicking as well. It seems to be in the ambient noises, as it shows up regardless of whatever else is going on. I was thinking about moving my sounds file from my live folder.... I think I will when I get home.

Is this the same thing we encountered a while back on some PvP maps (Capture & HOld was "famous" for it)?

I complained about this a month ago. I think it was Gozer who said there had been some changes to how game sound was handled on Tribble (at the time, it was causing crashes to desktop).

Ah, here is the quote from Gozer:
    ok.. good to know :)

The tech that hands out the loot was updated this week to make sure that all players on the map got the loot when the mission was complete. It used to be all team members got loot, but this was causing issues if you somehow weren't grouped.

I'll get his fixed for the next patch... until then you'll need to try and be alive when the boss dies. Even if that means re-spawning outside the room and waiting for the fight to end. If you are not alive when the boss dies the tech doesn't know to give you a loot bag.

The crashes are being looked at as well, it isn't anything stf specific, it has to do with new sound software. It can happen anywhere on any mission.

    Goz

Ever since the new sound software was intro'd on Tribble, I've heard the cracks and whirrs. ESD outside of the bank is a really good examply of how bad it can be. The wormhole is another good one.
