Consoles were nerfed to make room for the C-store consoles.

Well now that all those consoles kind of suck, you should be well motivated to get c store ship consoles.

You feel motivated yet?

That console that snares ans drains shields, that console that drains power and adds to yours... or how about that console that does xyz?

Coem on? why not? because of that console that adds just about nothing to your powers now?

Not really because they always share a 2 or 3 minute cool down. So i won't be using more then 1 C Store console at a time. But yeah i'm really hating that they are just straight up nerfing everything across the board. Simplifying everything to the point a monkey can play the game and making things grindy......not to say a little grind is a bad thing as the game was rather quick, but too much IS a bad thing.

The cstore consoles suck more, by far.

You obviously haven't tried them out... nor have even looked at them

    Actually, no.

    Here's my theory.

There are two ways to assist in slowing down leveling.

    1) Make the enemy AI better so that battles take longer.

    2) Reduce the abilities of the player's ships so that battles take longer.

Which is easier from a coding perspective?

    Upping the AI stats obviously.

    Thats the easiest way.

But its not the reason here.

Look at the energy drain console the kdf gets: that thing is gold for bops.
So is the "in thy back, stabbing at thee!" console.

Radiation went not withstanding especially considering the buffs to drains in general....

    2).

Either has the advantage you also sell more Premium ships.

Totally incorrect. With the exception ao a few outliers (AMS), the consoles either have horrendous cooldowns, or little effect, or both.

Point defense does indeed kill PvE spam...and then is useless for the next two battles.

The energy siphon console is also weak - I'm not even sure it has a PvE effect.

The Rhode Island console has saved my life a lot of times in PVP and STFs.
The Antimater Spreade console is really good too.
And the Sabre console seems also really good, but I didnt really try it.

I have to agree, with EPS and Science Consoles getting another 50% nerf, it's so low that there is really no point in even having Science Consoles.

That is true. The new Vor'cha Console is very much worth it. (Though I haven't seen the difference on Tribble, yet).

And it definitely makes it more attractive to use the other abilities like the Shield, the Jump Console, the Aceton Assimiliator, and the Venture's Spread console.

Purposely nerf your character so you feel compelled to buy from the C-store to ungimp your character. It has Perfect World's stink all over it.

You get a quick burst of 'afterburner' (no turning!) which doesn't even last long enough to get you out of 10km range.

Then you didn't do it right... the impulse burst alone puts you 2x out of the range of any enemy, and even if they hit evasive, you'll still be 15+ away from them when it ends... it really is an OS button for escorts (much needed!).
