Just a quick little comment on this point, if we have to grind in a linear fashion, then please list on the missions when they will be open rank wise to the player. That keeps us from having to guess if it's a defect or not.

+1. List the level requirement! It took a while (and asking on channels) to realize that you have to be like MG2/3 to start the Breen ones. Which, in itself, is way, way, way, too high. I like the story missions, and the way they work, BUT ... we should have more into the story. People have made a plenty of Foundry missions... Reward them, make their work "immortal" by introducing the best into storyline!

The really really bad thing is.... the Undine missions have even a LOWER level reqirement but are locked until the missions with a higher one are played through.
Another case of the "Not using brain" decease.
Especially for Klingons, who already have a VERY VERY little amount of missions it is a seriuously stupid move to have almost a third of their missions locked onto the last 3 ranks...

Indeed, KDF -needs- more SENSIBLE content to fill the gaps. But like said in my edited post above, incorporate the best of Foundry into the storyline. And even more, reward them in RL currency to make them WANT TO CREATE MORE!
Just finished the long slow climb to Lieutenant General on my Orion character. I play him once every couple of months when my guild does KDF RP. With the dead line approaching for F2P, I busted my TRIBBLE to earn my MCP before I got shafted with the game changes.
I've had more fun watching snails race. That was a horrible, slow, boring grind. You could use that grind as a form of enhanced interrogation at Git-Mo, but it might be considered a form of torture.
The way they have it on Tribble with the forced mission progression you have to do the Devidian series first, that unlocks the Romulan series then once you finsh that it unlocks the Breen series...which unlocks the Borg series.
A fleetmate told me even after doing the romulan series, he still had to hit MG 4 before it opened.
You'd think since the whole idea of cutting out the first cple levels of Klingon was to have to do less grinding, but no, you still will have to level via mucho grinding before you get to do all the Featured series so that by the time you open the Borg sector, you're already at level cap.
Brilliant, just brilliant...
And Cryptic did that...why again?

I agree with that so very very much. Thanks for all the info everyone, looks like I'll be grinding even more, Yay. It's not like I haven't done my fair share of grinding, it just gets very very old. Thankfully I can be fairly stubborn and won't give up till I've got what I wanted.

Especially sinde I had to grind further BETWEEN the breen missions, some even unlock with LG1.

Why? The Breen gear set... its perfect to use while levelling up.
And when I'm at level 46+ whatever, I'll want the STF sets, not the Breen set.
The way it is now, the Breen set with it's pretty sparkly ice trail is useless.
