As many players I am sure have seen, Devs came back with a willingness to address the concerns about the crafting changes, but that they also have concerns that without a dilithium component that crafting can scew the economy.
While they also stated they want to do another revamp on the crafting system, that will not happen prior to F2P and they are working on an interim solution.
My suggestion for a solution is to create a new type of craft material that would replace Dilithium in crafted items, but would itself be crafted from Dilithium. We can call this item a Dilithium Matrix and it can be tiered by Mk lvl like the final crafted item, and be tradeable, but maybe not able to be posted on the exchange. This could be an item that can be crafted with zero craft skill at any tier, so anyone can make it, and then trade it to their alt/friend/guild crafter along with the other mats in order to make the final product.
This would allow us to preserve most of the flexibility of the current crafting system while still tying it to the Dilithium economy.
