Constant Crashes with ATi Catalyst 11.10 Drivers - Ticket #1221257

After upgrading to the 11.10 Catalyst drivers on the 31st, I have not been able to play STO at all.

When (2 times out of 10 tries) I can get to the Character selection screen, When I click continue, the game locks up and windows crashes the program for being non-responsive. When I click a different character, or move the mouse too much, the graphics fragment, go nuts and then the game locks up and windows crashes it for being non-responsive.

Seriously guys, STO has had an issue with ATi cards since early closed beta, you would think that after all this time you would have this worked out.

I have tried changing varous video card settings in the Catalyst control panel (Adaptive Anti Aliasing, Catalyst Driver AI Optimization, ect), something I had to do to get Tribble to Work, but all produce the same result.

Compy Specs:
ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad-Core Processor (~3.30 GHz)
8 GB Ram
Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD4650 512mb High Performance Video Card

No point in reporting it. They won't fix it. And even IF they do, the patch won't be out until AFTER F2P. You can bet on it.

And my specs are almost exactly the same as yours, Quad and all.

Its that kind of attitude that keeps problems like this unresolved.

It's the result of all the unfixed bugs, some of which have lasted since launch.

I can confirm that I have also started getting these errors as part of the new drivers. I currently have a 5870.

Although in my case the game crashes about 30 seconds after I log in and I have to complete a hard reset of the PC to get it working again.

Reminds me of the good old days of Dynamic lighting and max shadow errors.

I've reverted (with great difficulty) to 11.8 and it seems to have fixed the problem. Never going ATI again lol.
