My take on the F2P of Star Trek Online

I have both a Fed and a Klingon character that I started from scratch and leveled up to 51.

Well I will star off by saying the Doff system is a nice touch. This will be very popular with the Star Trek fans. It gives a feel of things actually going on with your ship and crew. What I do not see is the outfit option so that the whole crew wears what outfit you pick out.

I do like how you have to complete the story in order and that now I know there is an order. I also like the new UI. There are several issues though. First you have to complete the entire series before you go to the next one. I believe that Romulan series should be accessible once you are commander no matter if you complete the Klingon series or not. The same for the Cardassian series, but at Captain level and so on. If you transfer a character over and have any mission missing from previous series then those must be completed before continuing forward.

On the Klingon side you are only allowed to start the Breen series at Major General 2 (MG 2). First off nothing tell you this so you have to ask someone an hope someone knows this will tell you or find out the hard way by yourself. Secondly the second mission cannot be started until you reached the next rank (MG 3) and the same for the mission after that (MG 4) and so on, until you reach level cap. This was very annoying and will be to those who want to do one mission after the other.

Klingons side is very lacking in story content to the point that as a faction they are more of a joke and make Star Trek Online look more like half of a game instead of a complete game. If Cryptic is really serious about rebooting for the F2P, they should seriously consider completing the Klingon faction first or forget about STO altogether.

I do not believe the Nebula and Excelsior ship should be plus 1 ships. Now if they create their own custom version like they did with the Galaxy , Akira, and Constitution then I all for it.

I am not a big fan of the new currency. Now there is no reason to do exploration because you do not get any dilithium as of right now, but before you would get marks. I have no idea if you get any dilithium for PVP.
There does need more content at rank up (LT. to LT. Comm. to Comm. to Captain…..). It should take longer at each rank then the previous rank, but in order for this to work there need to be more content. As it stands right now there in not enough content for this. Making people grind will not go over very well.

In my opinion the new C-Store prices are a bit high. I believe no item should cost more then a monthly subscription and if they stay at currently as they are on Tribble I will not be supporting the C-Store.

I like your points I too do not like the pricing in C-store, I tried the Dilithium store and hate it, the need more stories for both Feds and Klingons but more for Klingons since they hardly have stories. I will admit i do not play klingon side but i do feel for them as they do not have hardly any storyline as does Fed side. I did try klingon side but did not like it due to barely any storylines.
I feel the way this game is going now its more for the F2P than it is Gold members or the old players so to speak. I feel Cryptic and PW let us down and are for all these new players they are hoping for. as for pricintg in C-store most ships in Holodeck are 400CP cheaper than on tribble which means they plan to raise prices not keep them as they were or lower them as they said. So not sure how much longer i will be here. Its not doom and gloom i am saying its facts. looking at the F2P matrix there is no reason what so ever to subscribe to STO anymore as Silver members get 99% of what gold members get, to me this is a rip off or a slap in every gold members face........................

I think with the current matrix a lot of people will just go to Silver because at the matrix stands there is not a whole lot of incentive to be a gold member. If i was not a lifetime member I would go Silver.
