Currently, I have characters that have not yet spent their VA ship token. What is going to happen to these tokens under the F2P transition?
Will I retain the token and still be able to use it after F2P? Is it going to be converted to dilithium or c-store points? Or will it simply disappear if I don't use it before F2P?
I'm worried, because of the precedent with the LG tokens. With season 2, the Klingons only got the Karfi, and an LG token, but since more KDF ships were announced, some players like me did not spent their token on the Kar'fi and waited for the other ships instead. When these ships came, LGs who had spent their token on the Karfi got another token for one of the new ships, but those who hadn't spent their token at that time did not receive a second one.
This is a case where I would plan for the worst, but home for the best.
It seems most likely that the ship token will vanish when F2P hits. I am sitting in a very similar situation. I have had my Fed VA token since about a week after VA was opened up.
Given the Dilithium conversion rates, even if they did give you Dilithium for the token (this is an extremely long shot), I doubt they will give you enough to buy a VA level ship. You will probably still have to supplement the token's Dilithium with your own.

Make sure to spend EC and get the T3 excel and T3 special science ship, as both as supposed to have consoles when the changes are made.
