I absolutely love these! I like them so much I think they should be a standard part of all space gameplay, not just Elite STFs.
You'd accrue these ship injuries during combat (not just from death) and your ship gets less effective over the couse of the battle, and I'd like to see an extra ability to counter these injuries, 'Damage Control Team', which you could use to remove one of these debuffs to restore effectiveness/efficiency to your ship, however this would trigger the cooldown of the other 'Team' abilities (Tactical, Engineering, Science) forcing you to choose between maintaining and improving the efficiency of your ship, or buffing your damage output/resistance and such.
Pretty much this in general, but what he seems to want is a little different, it seems to me. Actually taking that damage during a battle and not just from dying.
The injury system is not particularly sensible as it is - at some point my ships explodes with no limited ability until it does. Then it returns ,but has a damaged torpedo bay? Huh?
But fixing this... Put it on the list for Statrek Online 2.
