Things that are more fun than Infected/Space/Elite

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
After trying to do Infected/Space on elite, I present:

The list of things that would be more fun/better use of time than playing Infected on elite

It'd be more fun to...

1.) have Mike Tyson speed-bag my low hanging fruit for 45 minutes straight. (******ie gets filtered, sorry)
2.) take a trip to the dentist.
3.) take a trip to the dentist (the pervie dentist who gropes you while you are out cold)
4.) sit in my living room and repeatedly hit myself with a stick.
5.) hang out with clowns and/or mimes.

If you have tried this mission out (or really, any of the STFs since last week) please feel free to add to the list of things you would have rather done with your time.

EDIT: Suggested additions from posters:

6.) Insult fat people to their faces. (chins? D'oh!)
7.) Battlefield 3

I tried it. Insulting fat people to their faces would be more fun than this joke of a Elite STF.

Even with the best TRIBBLE equipped on our ships, we didn't make a dent in the transmitter we were shooting. Too many spheres kept spawning.

    Added to the list.

My group was able to kill everything but the Tac Cube. I died so many times I had 9 weapon power, 0 Shields, 0 Engines, and 0 Aux. I had to pop a buff just to get my shields up for a second or two. Kinda funny, if it wasn't just a mindnumbling stupid and unfun way to spend 30 minutes.

Am I crazy? I thought games were supposed to be fun.

Infected space *is* fun- to the internal testing group that they've told us so much about (ie: That they exist)

To paraphrase our illustrious masters (Not using names, since they run name-searches on themselves): the internal testers and the silent majority don't seem to have any problem with the missions as currently implemented, so maybe you just suck. If you can't handle the missions maybe you should get out and go back to playing the easy mode like a baby.

Yep. Thats what I told myself, too.

    ....sssooooo.....

Nobody heard about a little thing called tactics?

Since my group wouldn't LISTEN, I didn't get very far (and of course one person bailed on us right away, dooming us from the start), but I'm pretty sure if you have one or two ships kite the spheres, you can have the rest of your group pound on the transformer with impunity.

For the Tac Cube (didn't get that far), I'm going to guess you need to pull out all the stops, defensive buff and weapon debuff-wise....while slipping out of combat for a bit to perform necessary repairs, and keeping it away from the spawn point. YES, I mean to say that you should not rush right towards it (especially since your power levels start at 0 after a respawn), but circle around to get it to go a different direction. Also, quickly identifying the Tac cube's primary target and focusing heals on them...

In short, if you play like a random assortment of ships and not a team, you're doomed.

nobody heard about a little thing called actually getting thru the mission before telling everyone how they are doing it wrong?

Since you capialized "listen" I'm going to have to ask - you aren't one of those guys who shows up in a group and immediately tells everyone how to do the mission, despite the fact you yourself haven't actually done the mission, are you? :D

I don't mean to be a jerk, but nothing you said changes the fact that the mission isn't any fun.

And if you haven't made it thru the tac cube, then your guess on how to deal with it is just a guess. Its not even informed opinion. It was all we had left to kill. We hammered away at it for 20 minutes, we got it to 70%. It was an exercise in futility that pretty much just proved to me that STFs (much like STDs) aren't anything I want to deal with in their current state.

Oh hey, another troll post instead of constructive criticism about something that's still on a test server. What a shock...

Protip: learn to play standard infected first. Then proceed to Elite, preferably with other people that know what they're doing instead of trying to blindly grind Mk XII salvage or whatever.

And if there is an actual problem with the mission - point it out. Constructively, not by trolling.

Seriously, this is starting to get old, all this Cryptic-hate. If at least half of you whiners will in fact leave the game once it goes F2P as you tend to say (seeing all these "I quit" threads), I'll be more than happy. It's not Cryptic that's "killing" the game - You are...

Protip: Saying "protip" before stating the obvious does not accomplish anything other than to make you look like a rampant DB. Infected and Cure/Space (which I've done about 120 times) were both fun and didn't feel grindy until after the most recent patch. Elite is just crazy. B@lls-out crazy.

Also, If you don't like the post, feel free not to reply. It works. Honestly. :D

...suck it up. You do not possess the game skills to be an elite player. You are with the rest of us that should only play PVE. Elite missions like STFs are for real game players.

Just think of all the money you will save only using white color items, now that you know elite play is not for you.

    Thank you

    Good stuff. :D

Yeah, it was certainly a humbling experience to die that much. Funny thing is I am all tricked out with Mk XI Borg purples and 2/3 of the mk XI kellerun set from my 100s of runthrus of Cure/Infected Normal and I still got squished like a bug.

It was like being fed to a wood-chipper.

Hmm... After seeing your other posts around the forums I can't decide whether you're a master of sarcasm, or somebody trolling. I sincerely hope it is the former.

If it is, then nicely done.
