C-Store Change? - Tribbles per Character?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I just looked at The Tribble C-Store and they added the Fluidic Space & other Tribbles.

But in the description it looks like once you claim it you have to buy another one in order to claim it again ...

"Note: Purchase of this option is a single item unlock. If you discard, sell, trade. or auction a Fluidic Space Tribble you WILL NOT be able to claim a free replacement from the C-Store. Once the item is unpacked from your inventory it will be bound to you."

So I guess this is another thing that is being taken away from the Subscriber.....

Now I just want to state this. I'm not against Cryptic making money, I do not dislike that idea of going to F2P. What I do dislike is that a lot of the items that we use to get for free, or account wide, are going into the C-Store or being per account. It looks to me like you are penalizing the people who have supported this game. I understand putting these items in the C-Store for the F2P player (Silver), but they should not be taken away from the subscribers, and when I speak of the subscribers I mean anyone who is paying for the game, either Monthly or by LTS.

Stop P'ing off your subscriber base and stop taking away these items. If these changes stay you are messing up each and every Fleet because you are you making the position of Fleet Quartermaster useless. If you do this and then less players will be able to help each other out because it will be impossible to craft items for others within a regular time frame, and this Dilithium Tax will also weaken the Fleets.

Cryptic - I'm begging you, please reverse the changes that you have implemented on your subscribing players. Adding these changes to the F2P matrix would be the smarter way to go. Charge the incoming Silver players, but do not add any charges to your Gold players. Have the Silver player buy their VA Ships and charge the Silver players a Dilithium Tax for crafting. Have the Silver player buy T-3 ships from the C-Store. Add the Respec Token to the C-Sore for the Silver player, but let the gold player buy them with regular in game currency .....

I'm objecting to the changes that have been made for the soon to be Gold Players, the players that paid and continue to pay to play this game. Do not make these player pay for those changes. Please stop making these changes that are upsetting your loyal subscriber base, we have supported this game for a long time, don't make us pay for the items that you have given us for supporting the game in the first place. It is like you have given us a gift, but now you are not only taking it away but also making us pay for it .....

I'm afraid that if these changes are not reversed that the animosity that will be created will hurt this game and that will eventually destroy the fun that is currently in the game ..... Please listen to the feedback and not ignore it until it goes away .....

I think that Cryptic is being very short sighted, if these changes stay you are upsetting the gold players and many of them have stated that they will never purchase anything from the C-Store ever again. If you reverse the changes and just charge the Silver Player on these changes, you will not upset the Gold player who then will purchase items from the C-Store in the future. Thinking that these changes will create income may be true, but by adding these to the F2P matrix means that for future items added to the C-Store both silver and Gold member will purchase them, if they are not reversed you risk only Silver players purchasing the future items in the C-Store .... Subscribing players have already demonstrated that they are willing to make C-Store purchases so the changes you are proposing may decrease their willingness to make the same purchases in the future.
I'd rather not upset the player base and make more money off of everyone in the future, it's your call Cryptic......

Thanks for letting me rant my worries ... I love this game and in reading the forums over the last week or so is just getting me a little afraid of what may happen to the game with all the animosity toward Cryptic.

i agree. if they want to charge silver players then so be it but golds should not lose this stuff.

something that is account wide must stay account wide. ideally for everybody but certainly for golds.

Actually once you claimed it, and lost it, for whatever reason, you've lost it... it dissapears from the C-Store.

    Tribbles affected:

    - Borg Tribble
    - Undine Tribble
    - Preorder tribble

I think it means that each of your characters can claim it once. It is still account wide, just character bound. I think the misunderstanding comes from the fact that we each get only one fed guy - who can claim them. One Klingon guy - who cant, and one transferred guy - who already has.

If they were to let us start another fed, I'm sure they would be able to claim it, but only once.

Actually, it's not character bound until you equip it, so it can be put on the exchange, I did that, then took it down to test it.
After buying the Tribble of Borg with my KDF, I made another KDF and there was no "claim", only "buy" soo...
Either it's bugged or they changed it.

even so whats the point? if every character can claim it ok, then why give people an option to lose it forever.

i suspect this has not been fully worked out one way or the other but it just needs to stay as it was.

psytce you are wise like alot of us.....its almost like Cryptic is turning its back on their loyal players for these so-called new players they are expecting. Well playing devil's advocate what if they do not get this so-called player base then what is in store for STO? i am not sure their loyal player base will be as forgiving.
You can not ignore a group of people who have stood by this game with Lifetime or monthly subs day in and day out through the good and bad and then expect us to say its ok we forgive your short sighteness.
I love STO one reason i paid lifetime and so many others... over the past 2 months it seems content is non existant, and their promise once F2P goes live we will pump out the content again. I am not sure I believe this too many promise and few that have been done so not sure yet.
Yes us Gold players are feeling we are not important to Cryptic anymore everything they gave us in past they are taking away now and making us pay for it or only making it for 1 character and if you make another one its more money.
Yet they are giving silver players 99% of what gold players get minus this so-called monthly 400 cryptic points. so roughly in 4 months you will be able to get that cool ship you want.
They want to slow the game down so let throw dilithium into everything,. crafting, rewards etc just enough to give them something and then lets only let them refine 8000 a day. I am sure some of these "changes" will change but which ones and will it matter. They are changing STO completely for the new players so where does that leave the loyal player???????

Yes, sadly it seems like we existing players are being replaced by a playerbase that may or may not show up. It seems like a big gamble to me placing all your bets on uncertainty when you have people paying already.

I sence, that the idea is that since they can't legally shut us out, they are making staying as unattractive and even painful as they can so they can make us leave by choice.

Doing so prevents lawsuits, and helps them make sure that there are no one there to tell the F2P players about the 9 months wait for new missions, the season 2 and 4 "yea we got nothing apart from half done bugged material for you", and the "oh yea we prefer F2P people over the ones who helped us get this game going".

    Boy are they wrong.

Next up is probably a complete forumwipe, so no evidence remains.
