I'm not buying any more real C-Store points that I don't need in order to get fake C-Store points on Tribble to test stuff for you guys. Allow me to buy fake points without purchasing real points and I'll go hog wild and test them all.
Until then I'll just test other more important stuff.
I like the Gladius and I'm happy CapnLogan actually gave it a revision, since it was actually made a good time ago.
The revision does include two struts on each of the forward winglets that I think look a bit overdone. Aside from that, I'm okay with it.
I do think it is a bit unfortunate, though, that the Gladius was made so long ago that it doesn't quite match the Enterprise-F's aesthetic touches... which have been prevalent in most of the newer designs.
I am enjoying the console. In my opinion, it is one of the better offerings as far as consoles go due to the immediate and tangible benefit it provides.
The console shared a cooldown with Evasive Maneuvers, which I count as positive. What I found odd is that it also lists the DOFF Con Officer Bonus (chance for reduced cooldown) as proc. I don't know if that is actually true or not, but it would be strange that it is.
Balance Wise, an extra "escape" button for Escorts is kinda problematic. We now have:
Engine Batteries
Evasive Maneuvers
Ramming Speed (yes, I count that as escape option, because that's what I use it for often enough, especially when I get hammered by enemies and am tractored - RS ignores the Tractor Beam effet)
The Hydrogen Surplus from the Alhena Daily
I don't list Emergency Power to Engines and Aux2Dampeners, because the first is not used often in practice due tot he opportunity cost with Emergency Power to Shields, and Aux2Dampeners doesn't give a significant speed buff.
The problem with too many options for the same thing is that it will negate all counters/defenses against it. You simply try every option you have. Maybe the s hared cooldown is enough to help in one instance - but being able to trigger 4 different speed buffs within about 2 minutes means that an entire strategy of hit & run opens up and gets stronger.
But I suppose it's pointless to discuss this anymore - Cryptic has set its mind on adding what is effectively bridge officer powers on consoles. You're making the job of whomever is to balance these afterwards (without getting metaphorically murdered on the boards for all his nerfs) incredibly more difficult.

This console is one of the best escort consoles to come out in a long time. However the 2 minute cool down is a bit much.
I'd suggest reducing the CD to around 1 minute or 1:30 seconds.
The speed burst is massive and IMHO should break tractor beams. Perhaps an engine power penalty (after use) or hull damage could be added as a trade off to running your engines into the ground?
All and all I LOVE this console it is as good as bought this weekend!
I am wondering what the stats of this console are? It would be nice to include the stats of this and all consoles you have in the C-store. Looking at the description at the shipyard all it says is that it comes with a console that grants you an impressive short burst of impulse power in combat. How impressive is impressive and how short is short. I tried to see if I could get it using the Redshirt server and its not there, why? So in order for me to test this ship I have to spend real money. What happens if I dont like it? Will I be able to get my C-Points back?
Whats up with that. Is this a joke? Now we need to spend real money to get Real C-Store point to transfer in to Fake C-Store points.
What happens if I run out of fake C-Store point? I have to keep buying more real C-store point to keep getting fake C-Store points. So how much real money do I have to spend to test theses ships to see if I want to buy them?
Thats F***ed up
Is the console worth losing a slot on your ship?
Is it better than the Deuterium Tanks you get for free from the daily mission?
+441% Flight Speed for 8 sec
+441% Turn Rate Strength for 8 sec
+15% Defense Strength for 8 sec

No one makes you spend money for anything. I just waited for the FREE TESTING STIPEND and tested it for 0 dollars.....
As for the stats (Per the power tool tip)
+152 flight speed
-1000% turn rate
+350% Defense
The description of evasive manuvers seems to suggest that the bonus is a percentage "as to flight speed strength". The console seems to apply a flat bonus that is better than anything else available.
The Console + Deuterium Surplus + EPtE II + APA + APO with full power to engines, with a Mark X Spdx2 Hyper-Impulse engine and an Engineering console with an engine power boost.
Not something I normally run using however. I don't usually carry Deuterium, or EPtE2, or the engine or console. So its a specific set up. Have to sacrifice things like aegis or borg sets to get up there.
Basically what I'm getting at is its not broken, I pay for that speed.

How does one test the ship if one doesn't have FAKE C-Point because they used it on something else.
Get my point.
Get mine: Don't complain because you chose poorly. Especially on a testing server that makes no promises about providing a voluntary tester ANYTHING. You could wait until the next round of stipend.... or you could, of your own free will and accord, spend the money if it's so important.
To suggest that you're being somehow forced to spend your money to test an item is absurd. There is no requirement to play test on tribble.
Dude, you're copying pasting your response to every ship thread here. Stop trolling
It's not trolling. It's giving an honest opinion on a dishonest practice that has so far been ignored. Well, not anymore. I will be heard on this matter. Telling people they get equivalent points on the Live C-Store for buying points on Test does not make it okay. They are tricking people into buying points they don't need to test stuff for them. That smells like BS no matter what perfume you try to cover it with.
And wouldn't posting the same thread 11 times for 11 separate ships also be considered spamming? Could these not have all been consolidated in one thread called, Official Ship Testing Thread?
Okay then. They can post 11 different threads. I can post my reply in each and every one.

You're seriously comparing official feedback threads divided to keep pertinent information organized on a per-ship basis, to your spamming a universal "no" in each and every one?

Yeah, considering these are all exactly the same wording except the ship name I would consider them as much spam as my reply in each one.
C-Points bought on Tribble should be separate from C-Points bought on Live and should be FREE. Getting people to buy points on Live they don't need in order to do testing Cryptic needs is a shady and despicable way to boost their damn C-Point sales, period.
Totally agreed. Perhaps not as much of a speed increase as in an escort, due to the extra mass required to move the ship but it would be fun to use in select cruisers and science ships that need a little more "oomph"

I think you've got a conceptual error here, in that you're not buying test points on Tribble. You're buying actual Live Holodeck C-Store points; and for that, you're getting the equivalent in Test Store points on Tribble. No one's making anyone buy C-Store points (and they in fact have been giving us some test points here and there), and no one is making us even use the C-Store (on Holodeck or Tribble) either. Buying more points is not required to even test the items in the test store when they're giving us points.
EDIT: But the test store points are intentionally given to us in a limited amount to 1) see what we use points on when we have a limited amount 2) see what we save points up for, 3) see what we're willing to buy more points for. You can't do any of that if we just got to grab everything for nothing. If they actually wanted us to test the items en masse they would have popped them up on REDSHIRT instead of TRIBBLE, like they did with the Thunderchild and the Korotinga.

Edited based on better judgement.
Love the console, perfect for an escort that's bittne off more than it can chew.

On the Gladius, a second LT BO slot adds at least 50% to your firepower, not to mention an extra console slot.
On the other hand, the special console is useless, since it does not last long enough to get you out of weapon range.
