One thing I have noticed with the doff system is the weapon crafting doesn't give you the weapon listed in the reward., (I have been lucky and gotten 4 purples, 2 blues and only 1 green off this).
For example I was making a dual Heavy Plasma cannon, and it rewarded me with a phaser heavy cannon (which I promptly equipped since I am running phasers). I have also receive disruptors while making phasers, and tetryerion while crafting polorons.
I am wondering if this is an intentional random roll, or if it is a bug.
If this is intentional, is it possible to just list the reward as a Heavy Dual cannon, and not assign a type?
It's a known issue. The final item that you receive isn't determined until the assignment completes. That's when the system decides if you have success, crit, or failure. So when the assignment is first given, what is displayed as the reward may not be the same as the final reward. i think Heretic is working on a solution.
With the item rewards at least (like weapons), it'd be nice if they just stated the item you could/would receive and then let the quality of the item be affected by the success rate. Maybe this is already what they intended but it is weird to get something different than was stated in the reward list.
Heretic said at one point the problem is that the game rolls the reward once to display it to you, and again to deliver it at the end. I think it's in the queue to fix this at some point so what you see is what you get (depending only on crit / fail for quality variations).
Yeah it does that. Just look at your recruiting assignments. Hover over the portraits of the Doffs it says you'll get upon completion, and then compare the names to the ones displayed in your System events when you click collect. Name, rarity, race, everything changes.
