I am not sure if this is a bug, so I am posting it here for further discussion.
I have done a few of the explore Sector missions recently, and find I am Engaging Enemy Units of Equal Strength to myself, and I have Gotten Drops ranging from IV to VI, which I believe is relative to my Captain Rank.
I just re-started the Episode series, and I had, perhaps wrongly, that the Mission Leveled to the Player Rank when they were taken. I see the Numbers for the Pay Out are 1000+, but the Equipment Level is showing up as II, and not the VI I was expecting.
Are these Episode Missions supposed to Be At Player Rank Level?? or are they not?
I know other people were asking me about this. As far as I know the XP is leveled to you, the gear however isnt on certain things. I know that much for sure. But the breen set, the reman shields, ect those things are.
I think there's a predefined set of rewards for most of the story missions. It was originally scaled to the level of the missions.
On Tribble the enemies in the missions scale with your character level, but the rewards do not. And with the XP rewards boosted on tribble for testing, you level faster than the reward tables.
So there is a disconnect between the difficulty of the mission and the rewards you get, caused by the accelerated leveling for testing purposes on tribble. I think the plan is that on the "real" F2P server, XP rewards get scaled back to normal levels, and the gear should line up better with your character then.
Special missions (particularly the FEs) have scaling gear, and do not suffer this problem.

Thanks this is good to know. Part of what you are saying is that when this hits Holo the Larger Pay Out Numbers are gone too......
Story missions have been upgraded so that they can match your level, but the rewards for doing them have not. So, when you get MkVI for doing missions while you are Admiral level don't be surprised.
Patrol missions, Defend the Sector missions and Exploration missions have not bee upgraded at all. In fact the Dilithium that replaced the Marks of Exploration have been removed from Exploration missions altogether. All you get now is XP and BOff points, and not a lot either.
These missions definitely need to be looked at and have their XP and rewards adjusted to be more in line with what Story missions now give.

I disagree. I think dilithium has no need to be so heavily gated. It's used for almost everything, so inflation should not be a worry. What bothers me is that at each rank, the price of items go up without any story missions giving you dilithium to compensate. Scaling rewards help, but it's not enough to try to equip your ship or your toon on the ground.
Sorry, started my own thread on this subject & wish I had seen this 1st. What is the point of getting a Mk III quantum torpedo as a mission reward when you are a Rear Admiral? The old missions are auto scaling to your current level- fine, no problem. Why on earth are the mission rewards not doing the same? Inexcusable Cryptic & needs to be corrected.

Me Thinks I Opened Up a Hornets Nest! Go Get EM B!
I also thought that Holodeck had Scaling Built in already for Mission Levels and Equipment Pay Out. Not that way here.
Yesterday, I picked up a 1 Hour Skill Bonus Token from an Anomaly Scan. While at ESD, I checked the Exchange to see what they were going for, and Figured I could use the Double Points Bonus to the 50,000 the lower ones were listed for.
Today, I took the next Episode Mission on my list. It showed I would get about 1050 + or - for completing it. It also listed about 1500 Crew Points as well. Once I go to the Sector for that mission, I clicked to USE the Token. It took me about 40 Minuets to do the mission, and then when I checked with HQ, I was awarded the 1050 for the Skill Points for my Toon, but I saw none for the Crew, nor did I see any Doubling of anything.
Are the Skill Bonus Usage items turned off for the test period?
