I was playing on Tribble when I logged out to jump over to Holodeck to check on something in the C-Store a friend was talking about in chat. However, when I tried to relaunch the STO launcher, the task bar thing shows up but no window actually opens for me to enter my log in info or anything. I checked, my Champions Online launcher is doing the same thing.
As of this point in time, neither restarting my computer nor reinstalling Star Trek Online has helped. Another fellow STO player I was able to contact via a chat program suggested trying the Game Client exe in the folder itself, which I will try after I post this.
EDIT: Nope, neither the CO or STO GameClient.exe let me log-in. Both took me to a log-in screen, but both timed out when trying to access the account server.
EDIT: Perhaps I should try an uninstall and then reinstall?
EDIT: Occasionally, when I try starting the launcher, I see the little 'automatic update' thing's window, but then it jumps to a button on my taskbar for the launcher but no window.
Having a similar issue with the Launcher but instead of seeing anything allowing me to log in I get a white window that eventually leads to connection timing out, or saying I have no internet connection. I tried uninstalling and re-installing same issue. I'm attempting a purge re-install.
Sorry for the double post but after i re-installed I can get the launcher to do this once and then the rest of the time its just a white screen, that leads to IE can't display this page.
The launcher uses MSHTML . reguardless of your default browser. So certain setting of IE can affect the launcher operations as it affects the MSHTML
havingIE browser set to work offline or have it's internet options - connection/communication tab lan setting to use a proxy will prevent the launcher from accessing the net.
having display images turned off will affect how the launcher looks
having autocomplete/auto form fill will prevent you from entering your user name and passowrd,
ie cache can cause problems
etc
so it is best to have IE updated, set to default settings amd cache cleared, if you have weird launcher issues
I seem to be having a similar issue. I try to open the launcher and it shows up on my task bar but I don't get the actual Launcher Window. Ironically, I still seem to be able to log into the launcher, I typed in my password and hit enter and then watched as it patched, though I could only see the bar on the task bar. So I currently have no way to switch servers or actually launch the game.
The thing is I had no problem launching the launcher this morning, it seems to have happened only after the latest patch.
Edit: Well I can technically launch the game directly from the GameClient.exe. Of course I then have to log in, and at that point the game times-out 'attempting to connect to account server.' I have no idea whats going on, and I am really hoping I don't have to reinstall the game, as it takes the better part of a day.

What can I do if the Launcher loads off the screen and I can't see it?
If your launcher loads off the screen (i.e. you start the Launcher, but don't see it on the screen anywhere), we have a tool you can download to resolve the issue.
ShowLauncherWindows.exe
After you download and run this program, the Launcher should load within the viewable range on your desktop. Note: this program needs to be run while the launcher is running.
Hi everyone I am having a different kind of launcher issue.. So when i open the launcher it shows up fine, but doesn't have my saved account name show up.. instead the cursor is in the "password" section. So i enter my username and password, and press enter.. nothing it times out.. so i try again.. this time i physically click the "submit" button and i get this screen (see link at the end of this post) I have tried all the options on the screen but with no luck, the odd thing is this is showing up on both of my Laptops..
