Particle Fragment Drop Rate at Starflet Academy

Drop rate today was way under 25% success rate. I don't know why I would waste my time on this again. Although the graphics have improved, the drop rate is way to low. In particular, "particle collapses" were out rageously hign. I had 5 "particle collapses" in a row. Bad luck is bad luck, but the drop rate was very low. Too low to justify the time expenditure to play there.

Recommend improving the drop rate or deleting this minigame.

Kindest regards,

Sasdean

Because you choose the wrong option 5 times in a row... if a particel "drops" aka you can scan it its a 100% drop rate.

Just choose the right scan option.

hes talking about particles that can drop before that stage

I gave up on that mini-game a few days ago.

For a while I was doing it just to get 15 particles and then turning them in.

But the last time I tried it, there were just to many Klingons dropping and way to many particle collapses that lead to nothing.

Interesting idea, but not worth the effort.

at least if you beat the klingons you get a particle fragment from the loot box.

Hornet is correct; if you are seeing the 'Partical Collapse', it is because you are choosing the wrong scan option for the anomolies. 'Disapating' and 'Expanding' require different scans.

I believe, and haven't done it in a couple of days, if it is 'Expanding' you have to choose the top scan (starts with M) and 'Disapating' is the bottom choice (starts with P).

I have not seen anything that shows the particle expanding or dissapating during the scan. The multiple times I had particle collapse happened before I had an option to choose muliphasic or positronic scan. Is there some step I'm missing? For the record, I never got to choose mulitphasic or positronic in the 5 collapses in a row.

    Thanks,

    Sasdean

Scan once: particle collapses, klingon drops (yields one particle), or you have to scan again.
Scan again: Expanding or dissipating. If you select the correct scan method, you get 2 particles.

I've had runs of more than five initial collapses. Can usually get 30 particles in less than 20 minutes. Won't be a bad way to pick up dilithium.

Would like to have an accolade for collapsed particles.

EDIT: OH! I see what you are saying now! I get the 'Particle collapsed; keep searching!' a lot, too. Part of the game really :)

Still, if you get the 'Expanding' or 'Disapating', it depends on the scan whether or not you get the 2 particles.

    IMO...
The SFA mini-scan-game in its present iteration, isn't worth the expenditure of time for the negligible reward that you get.

When it first became available, the Dissipating Particle at first scan (Zero Outcome) and the Klingon Holo drops, seemed more balanced with the Achieved Particles Outcome. (Gaining Dilithium Fragments)

Now it seems that you get 4 to 5 Zero Outcomes in a row or a +1 Fragment outcome (Klingon Holo) over 90% of the time.

Also IMO, the fact that They dropped the Achieved Outcome from 3 particles to 2, lessened the value of the time spent playing the mini-game.

It's just not as fun as it was. (even with the Stealing Exploit it had..., That was VERY ANNOYING.)
