A new "feature" that might/should get implemented?

Originally I posted the following in a different topic/forum but it fits better in here. Plus I am sure Cryptic (and sadly quite a lot of players too) will like the idea and, if it isn't in the works already, might consider implementing it.

A new game mechanic shall be introduced, to make the STO experience even more ..."engaging": Antimatter or Deuterium.

To complete duty officer assignments at the maximum/current speed the duty officers' shuttles and research labs etc. need to be operated at 100% energy supply. This requires a certain amount of antimatter/deuterium. A similar requirement is implemented for traveling at maximum warp in sector space or using 'full impulse' on mission/pvp maps.

If no antimatter/deuterium is being used doff assignments take twice as long to complete, warpspeed in sector space is reduced by 50% and full impulse is not available.
Antimatter/deuterium can be purchased in different amounts for junkpoints... err c-cow... I mean c-$store points. If you buy in large chunks of let's say 50$ (which will fuel your ship/shuttles etc. for about two weeks) you save 2$ !

The purchase of the antimatter/deuterium 'super savings package' for only 300$, will not only fuel the ships of all characters on an account for the entirety of 2 months, but also come with a free unlock of a newly released weapon that can be used in space as well as on the ground: a (not so) rare version of a minigun, its special attack is the rapidfiring of your credit card details at anyone within range!

People will love it, its totally Trek after all. And those who don't, well, how did people used to say: 'you don't have to purchase, you can play the game without it', right?

The sad thing is, I can totally see this happening. And worse so, people will indeed love it and defend it, even using phrases like the mentioned one.

For the record, I am not actually in favor of this change, but the question isn't so much 'if' they will implement a "feature" somewhat similar this this but rather 'when'.

Thinking about it, they could make it a "value bundle":
whenever you buy antimatter/deuterium you get the special opportunity to purchase greek government bonds for only 101% of their original price.

It sure sounds like something that the c-junkyard- err c-$tore- i mean cryptic fans would like to spend their money on.
