Since we are used to craft items for our members and sharing resources to equip all of our members the new changes will turn the whole community upside down.
How are we suposed to craft items for our members since the Dilithium is not tradable and our members wont be able to donate Dilithium into the fleet bank!!!!
Sharing resources is one of our foundations and i think many other communities are doing it as well.
I know Cryptic is going after teh $Money but have in mind : If you destroy the communities in the game you will be earning less $$$.
Make dilithium tradable or managable inside the fleets or remove the Dilithium from the Crafting requirements!!!
and STOP killing the GAME!
The 12th fleet shares this concern. We have an entire division focussed on crafting that will be put out of a job. This change on Tribble has the biggest impact yet on our entire fleet community.
I really hope you'll reconsider this decision and change it in a way where people are still allowed to craft for others without it having them cost BoP materials. Unless refined dilithium becomes tradeable between players this has a really negative impact on our fleet community.
I don't mind Dilithium being used for high end crafting, to me it actually makes sense. To get the best gear currently you have to either grind Emblems or craft a piece and what you got was almost identical (Accuracy/Severity), and that never did quite make sense. So with Emblems going, wasn't this kind of obvious to Blue/Purple gear?
But that said, i can certainly see the issue with Fleets and Member Crafting. One of the good additions to Wow before i left that game after 6 long years was the introduction of Guild Perks. There was one in particular that allowed an additional percentage of what was earned by the player (5%+ depending on the Guild level) to be added to the Guild Bank. Adding this to STO was solve the issue that a Fleet member would ever feel the need or want to donate or be pressured in donating any sum of Dilithium. The simple fact is that Dilithium will not be tradable, it goes against the economy Cryptic are setting up, and to the fact trading this resource will see some abuse in time. A Fleet Perk as mentioned would provide a little love into the case of no love for Fleets.
Yet this would have to be controlled to. As Dilithium is non-tradable, the Crafting would have to be done via some Base as such, and isn't the idea behind this part of Season 5? I don't know the ins and outs, but it certainly needs addressing, regardless.
This really does kill the social aspect of Memory Alpha. It makes community crafting almost useless. Maybe an Occupy ESD or the Promenade protest would be in order. To protest the bad direction the economy is headed in...
