People seem to be getting worked up over some really minor details of the F2P conversion, like whatever it is about crafting that has them all in a lather. I think it's time we took at look at some REAL changes, like instituting a death penalty. My idea is it should cost DL to "rez" after death, and you should have to buy "insurance" before heading out on a mission, if you want your items to be replaced after you rez. Probably 500 DL for insurance to recover items, and 100 DL to rez after each death would be good.

Excellent idea! but really insurance should go up evertime you die. By a magnitude of about 100x seems fair?
Also boffs should die and have to be replaced everytime they go down.
And ships of course. All for the magic dust of dilithium. (Reduce to refinement cap to 1k a day)
My proposal is every time one of us dies, Heezdedjim has one of his account's characters deleted. Permanently.
I agree with that , hah!
But then, lest give Cryptic some ideas. They could charge dilithium for...:
-regenerating your shields...your reactor needs dilithium to run!
-firing your weapon. It uses Dilithium shards as ammo!
-Entering instances, because fuel is not free!
-Dying your brown hair to black. Those dye are really expensive!
-Walking around. Becase the pavements need to be repaired too.
-Looting items...yes, you should pay tax for what you take off a charred corpse.

Exactly. See, NOW we're talking about BIG CHANGES.
Disagree 100%....if that includes PvE. PvP....that would be interesting.
With the Devs nerfing the shields to the point where I can get one-shotted by a Heavy Tac Borg...no thanks. Now if they balance the PvE a bit more where I can only die if I do something really stupid (like run into the middle of a borg mob) then fine. But as it is now I would only be for a Death Penalty if you can CHOOSE to have one in PvE at say Elite levle or something.
Lets not forget the ∞ 9 plan! 9 dilithium for everything!
Opening your e-mail screen? 9 dilithum.
Selecting an e-mail? 9 dilithium.
Replaying back? 9 dilithium.
Deleting the e-mail? 9 dilithium.
Walking next to one of the fire lights in quo'nos? 9 dilithium.
Door opens top the transporter room? 9 dilithium.
The NPC presses 3 buttons and raises the bar for initiation? 9 dilithium per button and 9 for the lifting of the bar lever.
Haha, I would be laughing more if this... did not sound so... plausible...

I think you're on to something quite interesting here . . .
