Wow having just looked over the various new ships on Tribble. It's a blatsed Klingon Love Fest....and damn straight it's about time. Those ships are impressive to look at and some of thier console abilities look to be down right lethal. Time will tell I guess. I've played mostly Fed since launch but looking over this impressive array I may be defecting.
CapnLogon has way out done himself and I am suitiably impressed.
I believe the Federation PvP TRIBBLE whooping will be beginning soon:(
To all of you die hard Klingons fans.. grats you may not have gotten content but you sure got some love.
Also if anyone wants to comment on the new ships I guess you could leave it here as their seems to be no individual feed back threads.
I got the tier 3 Orion cruiser. Wow I love that bad boy. Turn rate is decent for a cruiser. Those little interceptors actually make a difference now. Nice job beefing them up. The look of the ship is also cool. I was awestruck at the rear mounted big assed turrets. Very cool. One request... can then move please or at least rotate to be foward or rear facing. It seems strange for them to be facing backward while my turrets are firing forward.
Second thing on that. I have two rear mounted turrets and both fire out of the same spot. Any chance of breaking that up so that one fires from each of the two turrets?
It's very convenient for Cryptic to release these on Tribble, where the number of ships that can be tested is limited by the number of c-points you buy, as opposed to redshirt where you don't have to buy it before you test it.
Though they seem to ignore/disregard the majority of feedback that is given as a result of redshirt testing, so it probably wouldn't change anything anyway...
It seems to me the overall quality and "funn-ness" of the new klingon consoles far outweight that of the fed consoles.
I know klingons got very little for a long time but now they get most of the fun new power consoles.
I agree with that basicly.
Klingon cosnoles are funny and usable in multible situations...
The fed consoles have 1 purpose: beating klingons in PVP, most of them have little use in FvF and no use in PvE.

Yea I know... however, most people are on Tribble and probably ignoring Redshirt. Despite the "conveince' as you say.... Tribblre is still the better testing ground.

I don't know about *better* testing ground... More populous, yes.
I bought the Intrepid refit, to see if the console power is as ridiculous as I suspected it might be (it is), and now I can't test any of the other new powers/ships without buying cryptic points on live.
Ships come out on redshirt, the people to whom it is important will make the time to test it (I would, because it's important to me), as opposed to people who think it looks cool buying it on tribble and calling that 'testing'.
Furthermore, since these are straight to tribble, I fear the devs have no intentions of altering the powers in any way regardless of feedback recieved on this shard.
Haven't looked at any of the new ships for one reason. They all cost Cstore points, and I'm not spending my test points to test ships.
Another point, while it is great to see new ships for the KDF, the fact remains their FREE selection is far lower than the Fed selection, and the premium selection is generally weaker than the Fed selection (especially if the defiant refit gets a free engineering console, wtf?)

Klingon premium generally weaker? Not any more. As I said I got the tier 3 Orien cruiser. Hands down I can beat any similar tier federation ship 1 on 1. It's that good.
As to not testing ships. Why not? They gave your a stipend of 2000 points today just for that. Sure you can't test every one of them but you can test several. If you choose not to use your test points for this than that is your loss.

They gave you the points so they can let you choose what to test. The whole point of giving out points is a BIG test for them so they can see what people are purchasing and what they need to aim their business model at. What sell best, what sells least etc.
It's not like you are going to be able to keep them anyways. This is the the tribble test server. In a few weeks, come early November its going to get wiped and you are going to lose everything on here anyways.
I don't understand your response. It doesn't make sense.

Definat gets an extra engineering console slot. This is to counter the use if you are to put on the cloaking console. Because if it didn't have this. It would be not fair and underpowered. You now have the option. You can fly the Defiant R with it's upgrades minus the cloak and beef it out with another console. Or you can sacrifice a console slot, or any number of console slots for the unique consoles.
You can make a bare bones Defiant R that has like resistance consoles and all that one there...
Or you can make one tha thas a cloaking device, those new boosters, and say.. the device that comes with the Akira Refit.

I doubt *any* of the new ships are going to go to Holodeck before F2P goes live. Redshirt is for things that are going to Holodeck before the F2P update. Since that's the case, there's no reason to put the ships on Redshirt.

But they will still hit holodeck without having the opportunity to properly test them (in an environment where the number of ships that can be tested is not limited), I suspect (ie; with F2P launch), which was my point

THey also have less customziation options. So you don't get the same value as you get from Federation ships, as with a Fed ship, you usually get not just one skin, but the option to custumize that skin a lot. Even on a ship with only 4 costume parts and 3 variants, a 4th variant basically means adding 175 customization options just by parts alone.

However.... can anybody tell me if the consoles of the 2 nasican ships work on BoPs?
A little warning: The Ki'tang refit doesnt have the "promised" console, by the way...

Good to know!
i bought all the sci ships only to realize the consoles didn't go on my carrier. i thought it would.
bleh.

Not that I want to spam but once more: Had anybody bought those nausican ships and can tell me if their consoles work on Bird of Preys?
