So Doffs can be sold on the exchange now. When I want to clear out some common Doffs to make room for the next batch (recruiting assignments being costless and theorethically going on forever and all) it's a far more attractive option to put them on the exchange than it is to just dismiss them, and currently even to send them away using the reassignment assignment. (It being somewhat lacking in flexibility as it only accepts 3 doffs at a time, no more and no less, and can only be used essentially once per day.)
Because of that I'm left wondering what the Duty Officers section of the exchange will look like twelve months from now. The supply of Doffs there is only going to increase over time. In a year you might well be able to buy a bunch of new uncommon doffs every time you stick random deflector array or a set of engines in the replicator.
If so, shouldn't the Duty Officers get their own exchange? (On the Request Duty Officers tab, perhaps?) Where you put them on, list a price, and if at the end of the term they're not picked up by someone, then Starfleet reassigns them for you. (IE, they disappear as though you'd dismissed them.) If nothing else it should help keep supply and demand at a stable and controllable level.
The system as it is though just garantees inflation.
