We were asked to let you know how we like it so...
I have to say that I'm not a fan. That and a pair of gears that look like they belong in a steampunk game? Really?
The old blue/static glow was fine. The newer one is alright too. I understand that the art department needs something to do but there's an old saying (positively ancient by 2409); If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I'm not a big fan either, I liked the recent update from the old blue glowing version but don't think I care for this one. Also I don't know if it's a result of the interactive thing but here at the shipyard doors the one side is red and the other side which has the gear interact thing is tan...just looks odd.
Yeah did some more looking around...don't like them.
I have to agree with Zanayael and Skippy2k. I was just getting used to the new version of interface. Surely they had other things they could have been working on then changing something that really didn't need changing.

Such as the coloration around ds9. (Please pruple cloud, with black space drop.)
Aye, I preferred the old interact better. Really not keen on the Cog wheel/interact pop out (art is fine, just doesn't seem to fit in a star trek game) and the blue scan lines was less invasive.
If it's not broke, why try and fix it...?
Liked the old interface much better.
Were there complaints on this before?
Or did someone just have a brain TRIBBLE late one night?
its not bad, but i think it should be something you can toggle on and off.
Exactly. It can be ok for exploration cluster missions where you want to see the console far away, but it gets annoying when it pops up over every computer in ESD and even on doors and bridge chairs. A little disruptive if it's not your primary mission objective, so I'd like for it to be a simple toggle, if at all.
The one that came before this on Tribble was not ok. The gears are a bit much, but at least now we can see things. It would be nice if you can turn the display of the gears on or off. They really should just cut their losses here, rollback to the current Holodeck version, and stop trying to "fix" something that was working fine already.
The frequency of the flash is a little jarring in social zones.
Seriously, this was not broken (based on the current Holodeck version). Stop trying to fix this, cause it's apparently only getting worse with every iteration.
I'll repeat what I've said in another thread: I don't care for this at all. We were making great strides in improving interact effects until this most recent addition. On smaller consoles it looks superfluous, and on larger objects, such as doors, it looks ridiculous. (Visit the turbolift to the shipyard on Earth Spacedock, for instance.) I'd recommend this be done away with entirely.

I'll repeat what I've said since Tribble went live: The original Tribble flash was not working, and I'm puzzled why there was a change at all from the Holodeck one. The one we have now is a little silly, but at least it works. The best thing would be just cut our losses at this point, roll back to the current Holodeck version, and leave well enough alone.
Here's an idea: Give us High, Low, and Off settings under the video tab for this. Make the High setting what is currently on Tribble; the Low setting what was just replaced; and the Off setting no flash at all (for those who want the maximum "immersion" and love that little bit of extra mystery, or just don't want to see any visuals in social zones).
It is a little bid... odd. More so because you can't really distinguish from looking what you're looking at. The symbol is the same for everything. Just a hovering semi-transparant LCARS style button containing the name of the object would be more useful and would look less out of place. Or an icon that turns into that description when you look directly at it or hover the cursor on it.
Frankly, first one of these I noticed made me run right over. It was in the Klingon Academy and I was heading that way to figure out why there was an anomaly embedded in that console...
So yeah... nice try, but it's not exactly an overwhelming success.
Valuable UI-development time spent not-fixing the toolbar bugs.
^^This^^
Not a fan either. Are you Devs EVER going to fix the "locked" tool bar re-arranging my icons, or the new bug where my two tierd gound UI constantly goes back to a 1 tier?

1) VERY busy and too large - it's a MAJOR distraction.
2) Gears? - Not Star Trek like at all.
3) Unnecessary. The interact animation you guys finalli implemented after (thankfully) removing te retna burning Bloom fest of the original interact anumation is good - new p;layer caught on very fast to recognize it.
Bottom line - Don't like it, and would hate to see it become an STO standard for intercat terminals.
I really would implore you guys NOT to add this new interact animation to the final F2P client, OR, if you do, PLEASE give us an opion to turn it off for ourselves; and just see the other (current) terminal interact animation.
I kinda like it personally. It doesn't work well on maps with a lot of close tight interactables, like social maps, but I think it would be nice to see a big obvious thing on all those hunt-the-console missions.
It could use more work though, because it is a bit obnoxious for those social maps.

Maybe if you could toggle it on and off. Or at the very least make it a bit smaller.
Something that looks more LCARS rather then gears would work. Gears don't feel very trek.
bad call I'm afraid

Ruins the RP aspect of the game.
Looks stupid.
And Wan't Necessary.
Really dislike this also.
