So, where exactly do I grind for dilithium?

Seems like a dumb question, but I really haven't seen any 'dailies' offered other than the lore daily for 480. I am VA1. Due to the mission progression lock, I haven't gone through the Reman featured series yet. Does that have something to do with it? When I go into exploration clusters, none of them seem to offer dilithium as a reward - just XP. How are people getting 8000 a day?

    Right now:

    - The lore missions you talked about.

    - The Fed Mirror, KDF Mirror, Fed Academy 'Events' ("Tour The Universe" just gives EC) and once it's in (the KDF Academy Zone), the KDF academy event.

    - There's an Exploration dailiy for both factions that award Dilithium; they still allow you do do Explores every 30 minutes, but those just give EC/EXP/SP)

    - Doff system assignments.

    I don't think we are supposed to grind it. I think the new model is buy c-points and sell it. I hope I'm wrong.

    Stf's get a ridiculous ammount of ore, considering the time taken.

    5 mins (no joke) 1100 ore, as many times as you like.

    I am finding it really hard to get it, i am just about to hit Commander Rank and i havent been able to afford one ship, so far im not liking this set up one bit, if it turns into a bad grind then bleh.

    Thanks for the info. I'll look in my mission list for the explore daily. I presume it will work for ANY explore cluster?

    Didn't know the mirror events gave DL. But if it's not happening during my play time, oh well.

    Fewzz, you SHOULD be getting free ships again with rank up. They changed this during the last update.

    The exploration daily is called "Explore Strange New Worlds" and should be available from the guy who gives the first 3 exploration cluster missions, Grall or something like that.

    Also to add to the list, 2 of the 3 Neutral Zone dailies + Salvage Disput give ore too.

    PvP always gave marks, but now they have been removed and replaced with fresh air and a daily :(

    Good afternoon. Not all the explores offer Ore when you pick them up but many do when you complete them. Other locations to consider the Traelus System - Satelites along with the Hail Sh'mar mission. Then there is also the UGC investigation mission that generates ore.

    So for VA, that means B'tran only? That suks for me since I don't have access to Gamma Orionis. :P (unless I'm willing to finish off the Reman FE plus all the Cardassian front missions).

    My tribble toon just hit RA last night, as of yet I have not felt anything grindy about the game.

    Did Cure Space like 7 times in an hour last night. Thats what, 7700 ore, plus all the rare loot and STF borg salvage drops, AND its actually fun to play?

    I can tell you thats not going to last very long though... Its too easy to farm.

    No, the Exploration Daily will complete when you finish any of the Exploration missions offered. Doesn't matter what cluster you are in, just complete one of the explore 3 systems missions and the daily is successful.

    To clarify just read the description of the "Explore Strange New Worlds" daily.

    My mission journal is so full of those Patrol missions that I didn't do, I have a hard time finding the mission I'm looking for lol.

    Doesn't really matter since the limit on refinement is 8000. You could have 100 million ore saved up, but it won't do you any good until it's refined.

    EDIT: And you are right, it IS fun to play.

    This is outdated information. You get a new daily, "Explore Strange New Worlds", from Lt. Grall. This daily will grant you 1440 Dilithium ore (or is it 1100? one of those) to complete one star cluster explore round from ANY star cluster.

    However, this is also not currently fully working as intended (and will be fixed later) because all you need to do is enter one exploration mission and it autocompletes.

    Maybe outdated, but the outcome is the same. You could have 4-5 "explore-3-system" missions but still only get dilithium one of them. Difference is just that you get to pick which one :P
