So I transfer my Sci-VA over to Tribble yesterday, and one of the first things I notice is that the Intrepid-R I am captaining on Holodeck, doesn't seem to have the Ablative Armor console on Tribble. I also checked my inventory, and no new console.
Did anyone else with an Intrepid-R have this issue?
Yeah, there seems to be a short delay between when you open the window and when the consoles first appear (sometimes), I'm still waiting on my Excel retro's console to appear though.
Personally speaking, I don't see why some of these abilities were made into consoles, like the Intrepid-R's armor or the Galaxy-R's Saucer Separation. I mean, it's not like you can equip them to other ships, or even their lower tiered incarnations.

I thought you use the extra console slot for whatever you wanted though? I haven't tested it out.

I mean, yeah, that's the added bonus, I suppose. But I dunno, it just seems like this has been used as an excuse to repackage a lot of the old C-Store ships with these new consoles, some of which will only work for just that one ship. Plus, some of these abilities strike me more as something that should be inherent to particular ships, like Saucer Separation. It'd be cool if the devs eventually got around to making some of the other in-game ships that, IP-wise have Saucer Sep, able to utilize that console. But I think until then, it should have just remained an inherent power.
The consoles add flexibility to a ship. For example: I fly the Venture X and I moved the cloak to the science slot and got an extra tac console back.
Made the ship the best Fed cruiser in the game now, IMO.. still has much weaker stats than the Klingon Counterparts.. but that is another story all together.
