Tricobalt + HY = useless

Why nerf the Tricobalt to nothing-ness?

I just tested against an Escort with no shields using HY2 and I am very dissapointed. The rift is nice but the damage is terrible now.

On 13 hits with a HY Tricobalt I did 22-24,000 damage.... Nothing more, nothing less. Why put such a low cap on the damage? Why take away the spike damage? I was used to hitting for 50-80,000 on holodeck.

Someone please tell me this is going to change....

UPDATE:
This may be bugged: A fleet mate and I tested this again for an hour. I was fully spec into torps and trico's and have all + torpedo consoles... He had none of the previous

Our Trico's hit for the same amounts 19 out of 20 times

    Why ffs nerf the single tricobalt? If you would make HYT do the dmg or a bit more the normal trico does/did on Holodeck it would be fine, but no cryptic has to touch stuff again.

    Perhaps they should just remove all torps with the exception of photon/quantum.......cus the rest are largly useless and if they try to make them of some kind of use they will just TRIBBLE it up worse then things are now.....apparently........

    My point exactly. I have had quantums with spread 1 hit for 40 k CriH . But my Trico's now are worthless. It takes a lot of patience to use them effectively, and now a must land 2, on bare hull. with a 1 min CD between such, and hope he doesn't heal in that time to get the kill?

    THAT sounds feasible :eek:

    I still like my plasma torps, I just wished they would remove the hy effect, and let me shoot multipules.
    On tribble I have gone with a quantum build and love the damg, even more so with my doffs reducing my torp cool down.

    Tricobalt reminds me of Transphasic torpedoes now. Why? Because I always throw them away.

    The OPs numbers seem off target. Maybe HY is not factoring correctly?
    Skilled in Trics but without HY I am able to hit on average of 15-20k damage on a crit.
    Which sucks, but thankfully my BO3 is taking up the slack (average 40k a crit) that the Tricobalts now have damagewise.
