I returned back to STO wanted to do the free to play an made me pay to play so silly me paid $14.99 played less than 10 minutes got lagged out. Looked in the forums an discover huge problem with Latency issues.

Support suggests to re install windows (ROFLMFAO).

Guys why dont you just close the Asian servers down change it to an EU an USA east IP only you know you want to.

This trace cert TRIBBLE is all about you internet region issue ( some one is not paying their bills )

To any Aussie players or Oceanic players i would just close the account save your money.

The support to me today has been very poor an service has the same rating.

LOL i should of listened to gamespots raiting aboput STO (poor)

SO you have latency issues and all you do is post in the forums over and over about it?

This is your second post on this issue.

Lag is not always caused by a server to pc connection. You may have problems with your sound or graphics cards that cause failures to respond so the server resets you.

You may want to look in this forum and try some of the suggestions... also try changing your settings for sound and graphics. You may find that lowering them will fix your issue.

I'm from Australia and I have ZERO lag issues with sto, so try this:

    1. Set portforwading from your modem to your router and from router to gaming pc on ports 5000-5700 TCP (I know lots of ports but the one on connection is randomised (set that pc to dmz mode if need be))

    2. make sure gameclient.exe is given both outbound and inbound net access on your network

    3. go here:http://www.speedguide.net/articles/windows-7-vista-2008-tweaks-2574 and do the following:
    • Disable Windows Scaling heuristics
    • Compound TCP - Improve throughput
    • TCP Chimney Offload
    • Network Throttling Index
    • Gaming Tweak - Disable Nagle's algorithm

I find a liitle strange to lower the rez but i did it .. ( the comp is up to date with all drivers ) plus its brand new.

Ok maybe you might find that i my comment are unfair but hey here i come into a game ani get massive lag spike it seems to happen always a round the same time period too 650 pm PST .

I have done everything that has been asked in the forums an i am NOT reinstalling win7 for just STO.

My information has that the connection issue is comming from cryptics area my champions lags too.

Considering that most people are railroaded into paying a fee i cant see how that is F2P plus the fustration that my play time for STO is from 6pm+ an its unplayable how are we suppose to feel.

Oh wait we must be all noobs an we dont know what we are doing.

There is an issue an connection is the problem maybe the other end has a connection problem curtain providers that too happens when they go into off peak mode since STO is a EU game

actually the servers for both STO and CO are located in boston.
post the results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and a nettest to provide data

    Nettest:
    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

values less than 250 in columns 1 and 3 and less than 13 in column 2 will likely have lag and disconnect problems.

each game uses different routing, ports, packet configuration, and have different latency requirements.

saying it is server problem on one game because you can play another with out problems is like saying

it is the stores fault because I can get to work but not the store. (even though I walk to work and i have to drive to the store and they both in different parts of the town.)

I will try this to see if it works, but I am going to say this loud and clear.... I have played many many MMOs thru the years.

I have NEVER had to do all this, or even half this, to connect to a MMO in a stable and consistent manner.

    Never.

Just think about that for a minute and then tell me this is the fault of the Players that are having trouble staying connected to STO.

Stop blaming the Players. Many have left over this whether you are aware of it or not. That is well known.

I always do that on a new network setup and fresh install of windows on any system for less headaches in the future. helps to also diagnose if its your local setup or just a hop between you, your isp and the server(s).

i click the trace cert invalid output an error rec# 041 i have no idea what it means i want to go back to windows xp.

regaurdless to that the i have a time slot 6pm PST or 11pm GST it happends right at this time point.

Question is is there an Off peak mode switching curtain companies ie optus to another oversaes server. this was the problem i had with Trions an rift* i lowered the refresh rate.

Plus i am at lower grapics setting turned all sound an special effects off it was a little better but the rubber banding continued,

I can play from 6.30 am GST there is 5 hour window of MS probs.

    its truly bizzar

Players like me we are just fustrated we want to play the game but the issue is a real pain in the neck an like me we tend to type quickier before we read it.

I look forward to the next response:)

sounds like thats an issue ISP side, you need to call them and tell them about the issue.

a lot of ISP will varying thier packet filtering /traffic management schemes based on peak and off peak hours. throddling or decrease certain non comercial traffic . that is why a tracert and nettest should be done at various times to check that.
