need more slots

holy cow i have 9 total tactical duty the rest is eng and medical and civilan.... and i have a full duty officer roster.100 i need more space for more. i dont have hardly any tactical officers... give us up too 200 duty officers......

    Yer supposed to rotate out the ones you aren't using very much with the Crew Replacement Assignments and use the Colony Assignments to get rid of the Colonists and Civilians.

    You get Dilithium (among other things) when ya do. :)

    It's not a waste if the doffs are wasted space to begin with.

    i hope they keep it at 100. it should be tricky to pick and choose the right et up, and rotate people in and out. having 200 would give people enough space to do any mission at any time. its too many.

    The default may be left at 100, but Heretic has already mentioned there will be a way to increase this (I'm guessing C-Store related). The bigger limiter in getting DOFF assignments done is the 20 mission slots. I don't recall any mention of whether there will be an way to increase the mission slot limit.

    100 is lots. Like was said above, send those who aren't useful (skills you never use, or if you have 2 or more of a certain department) and send them back to starfleet to free up more room on your ship. You get resources back when you do this, plus recruitment xp.

    As for what Heretic said, maybe I'm thinking of a different discussion, but I got the impression that he was saying there will be a way to increase your active duty roster, i.e. right now you only get 5 slots for space, 5 for ground. In the future, you'll be able to get up to 12 for each, if I recall. I've never heard anything said about increasing the 100 limit. And I hope they don't. I agree, if you get more than 100, you'll be able to have too many doffs, and never come across a mission that you don't have the doffs for. Takes out the challenge of the system.

    Some people want it too easy.

    I have no problem rotating 3 of the 4 biologists, or 2 of the 4 bartenders that i have back to SFA to try again for new, different officers. Better yet, I'm hoping to trade them with other captains. I am approaching 100, and I've already noted areas where I am overloaded and areas where I am under-represented. Once I hit 100, things will really get interesting.

    100 slots is plenty. I only have ~60-70 right now with both my klink and fed, and both always have all 20 assignments going with plenty of DOFF's left over.

    I neither see an issue with the 20 missions nor the 100 doffs.

    The resources of a Starship are limitet. Remember that a Defaint has only a crew of fifty, I already dont know where those DOFFs sleep there.
    A single ship cant handle an unlimmitet amount of officers or missions.

    I just kind of wish we could send DOFFs via mail... so I could eqip my alts with Doffs I dont need or are more needet there.... after all, the alts HAVE other ships!
